SECOND QUARTER REPORT CARDS AND NARRATIVES – Report Cards for the second quarter of this
school year will be issued this Friday, January 11. This day is an early
dismissal for students (11:45 a.m.) Conferences for this quarter are on an “as
needed” basis. Parents will receive a notice on Tuesday (today) if a teacher
feels that a conference is necessary. If a parent does not receive a notice but
would like to come in for a conference, please contact the teacher to make an
appointment.
ABSH LANGUAGE ARTS FESTIVAL – We will be once again hosting the Association
of Bilingual Schools in Honduras (ABSH) Language Arts Festival on Saturday,
February 9. This event required the participation and help of the entire staff,
and plans are underway to make it even better than last year’s event!
MAP TESTING – The second session for the MAP testing for this school year
will begin on Tuesday, January 22. Our milestone for this year is adding the
Kindergarten class to take the MAP for Primary Grades tests.
PARENT MEETINGS – During January and February, Ms. Giles
will once again host grade level parent meetings in round-table discussions to
receive input and to communicate regarding anything that is specific to that
particular grade level. In the past, these meetings have been well attended and
we value this opportunity to share with our parents in an informal setting. Information
discussed will be shared with the teachers of that particular grade level. More information will be provided in next
week’s Monday Memo on the dates for each grade level, and we will follow up
with phone calls to remind parents of the meetings.

CALIFICACIONES Y NARRATIVAS DEL SEGUNDO PARCIAL – Las calificaciones para el segundo parcial de este año
escolar serán emitidas este viernes 11 de enero. Este día es un día de salida
temprana para los alumnos (11:45 a.m.). Las conferencias para este periodo serán
a medida “se necesiten”. Los padres recibirán una notificación el día de hoy (martes)
si el maestro siente que una conferencia es necesaria. Si un padre no recibe
una notificación pero le gustaría venir a una conferencia, por favor
comuníquese con el maestro para concertar una cita.
FESTIVAL DEL LENGUAJE ABSH – Una vez más estaremos siendo los anfitriones del
Festival de Lenguaje de la Asociación de Escuelas Bilingües en Honduras (ABSH)
el sábado 9 de febrero. Este evento requiere la participación y ayuda de todo
el personal, y los planes esta encaminados para hacer de este evento aun mejor
que el del año pasado!
EXÁMENES MAP- La
segunda sesión de los exámenes MAP para este año escolar comenzará el día
martes 22 de enero. Nuestro logro este año escolar es haber agregado la clase
de Kinder para tomar los exámenes MAP con los grados de primaria.
REUNIONES DE PADRES- Durante enero y febrero, Ms. Giles una vez más estará
realizando reuniones de padres por grado para que a manera de discusiones de
mesa redonda, la escuela pueda recibir información acerca de cualquier
situación específica en cualquier grado en particular. En el pasado, estas
reuniones han tenido buena asistencia y valoramos la oportunidad que nos dan
para compartir con nuestros padres en un ambiente informal. La información
discutida será compartida con los maestros de cada grado particular. Mayor
información sobre las fechas para cada grado será proporcionada en el Memo de
los lunes de la próxima semana, y le daremos seguimiento con llamadas
telefónicas para recordarles a los padres acerca de las reuniones.
