weeks of school are always busy...please read this memo carefully!
CONCRETEC — The process has worked!
Over the weekend the city and legal authorities have supervised the removal of
materials from the Concretec site. Today the silos are being removed. Thanks to
everyone who played a part in this positive outcome.
DPTO LUNCHEON FOR
TEACHERS - The DPTO is hosting a Teacher Appreciation Lunch from
11:40 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28.
SPRING 2014 MAP
TESTING SESSION –This is the third and last week of our Spring
MAP testing session.
FLY UP DAY – Early
Childhood and Elementary students will participate in Fly Up Day on Monday, May
26, when students will be visiting the grade they will be promoted to from 9:00
to 9:45 a.m.

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL – Friday,
May 30 is the last day for students. This is an early dismissal day for
students (11:45 a.m.) and also an early dismissal day for teachers
(12:30 p.m.). All parents are invited to come and bid this school year
good-bye, and wish farewell to the families that will be leaving Discovery
School.
GRADUATION – Our Senior
Graduation will take place on Friday, June 6 at 10:00 a.m.
ELEMENTARY SOCCER
TOURNAMENT
– The final games for the tournament take place this week, and the final will
take place on Wednesday, May 28. Awards will be given out at the Assembly on
Friday.
DONATIONS - Moving? Cleaning out?
The Community Service Club is collecting used toys in good condition to
take with them on their monthly visits to
NuestrosPequeñosHermanosorphange. Toys
can be dropped off in Mrs. Agurcia's room (Rm. 7, Secondary Building).
REPORT CARDS – To
facilitate things for our parents, especially those who will be traveling or
moving away, the administration has decided to issue the end of the year report
cards and MAP reports on Friday, June
6 instead of Friday, June 13 as stated in the calendar. Parents will need
to come to the school to pick up these documents.

DOG SITTER NEEDED – Ms Diane is
looking for someone to care for her 1 1/2 year old German shepherd mix dog from
June 10-July 17. She is medium-sized.
Must be a dog lover and have no male dogs (the dog has not been spayed
yet.) A securely gated yard is a
must. She is an indoor dog. Ms Diane will provide food treats and money
for any vet emergency that may arise. Bella does well with adults and teenage
children. Please contact Diane
Howard-Coventry in the 4th grade.

CONCRETEC – El proceso funcionó! Durante el fin de semana la
ciudad y las autoridades legales han supervisado el desalojo de los materiales de
las instalaciones de Concretec. El día de hoy los silos están siendo removidas.

ALMUERZO PARA
MAESTROS DEL DPTO – El
DPTO está organizando un Almuerzo de Apreciación para los Maestros este miércoles
28 de mayo, desde las 11:40 a.m. a la 1:15 p.m.
HORARIO DE MAP PRIMAVERA 2014 – Esta es la tercera y última semana de nuestra sesión de exámenes MAP.
DÍA DE VOLAR ALTO – los alumnos de Pre-escolar y Primaria participarán
en el Día de Volar Alto el lunes 26 de mayo, cuando los alumnos visiten el
grado al cual serán promovidos desde las 9:00 a las 9:45 a.m.

ÚLTIMO DÍA DE CLASES –
El viernes
30 de mayo es el último día de clases para los alumnos. Este día los alumnos saldrán
temprano (11:45 a.m.) y también los maestros saldrán temprano (12:30
p.m.). Invitamos a todos los padres a venir y decirle adiós a este año escolar,
y decirles un hasta luego a las familias que estarán dejando la Escuela
Discovery.
GRADUACION – Nuestra graduación de
Seniors se llevará a cabo el viernes 6 de junio a las 10:00 a.m.
TORNEO DE FUTBOL DE PRIMARIA – Los juegos finales del torneo serán esta semana, y la final será el día miércoles
28 de mayo. Los premios se entregarán en la Asamblea el viernes.
DONACIONES – ¿Mudándose? ¿Limpiando? El Club de servicio
comunitario está recolectando juguetes usados en buenas condiciones para
llevarlos en sus visitas mensuales al orfanato Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos. Los
juguetes se pueden dejar en el aula de Mrs. Agurcia (aula 7, edificio de
secundaria)
CALIFICACIONES – Para facilitarles las cosas a los padres,
especialmente aquellos que viajarán o se están mudando, la administración ha
decidido entregar las calificaciones de fin de año y reportes MAP el viernes 6 de junio en lugar del
13 de junio como lo establece el calendario. Los padres deberán venir a la
escuela a recoger los documentos.

SE NECESITA CUIDADOR(A) PARA PERRO
– Ms. Diane está buscando a alguien que
cuide a su perra de 1 ½ años de edad, mezcla de pastor alemán desde el 10 de
junio al 17 de julio. Es tamaño mediano. Debe ser alguien que le gusten los
perros y que no tenga perros machos (la perra no ha sido castrada aun). Un
portón seguro en el patio es necesario. Ella es una perra que le gusta estar
adentro. Ms. Diane proporcionará la comida, galletitas y dinero para cualquier
necesidad de veterinario que se presente. A Bella le gustan los adultos y
jóvenes. Favor comuníquese con Diane Howard-Coventry el 4 para más detalles o
