MIDTERM
–Mid Term Progress Reports for the second quarter
will be issued this Friday, November 21.
Please sign and return them before
the Thanksgiving break. If you would like a conference, and one was not
requested by a teacher, please call the school and make an appointment.
ABSH
BASKETBALL – Ms. Yery Villeda took a group of high
school students to San Pedro Sula to participate in the annual ABSH basketball
tournament. We are very proud of these young men’s dedication and hard work
under Ms. Yery’s guidance. You have represented Discovery very well!
CHRISTMAS BAZAAR – The
School’s Community Service Club's will host a Christmas Bazaar on Saturday,
November 22, Get your early Christmas shopping done! Spread the word with your
family and friends!

COUNSELOR’S OFFICE –
Puberty Talk - Dra.
Karen Funes (gynecologist) will be giving an informative talk on Wednesday,
November 26, from 8:00 - 9:00 a.m., to the girls from 5th - 6th grade on
changes that occur during the puberty stage of development. We sent a
permission slip with your child last week for you to sign if you wish for your
daughter to attend this presentation.

CLASSROOM LUNCH OFFER – The school cafeteria is

FEST – Please mark your calendars for this year’s
Song Fest. There has been a change in time! The performances will begin at 5:30 p.m. This year’s theme
is “Broadway”.
FUNDACION
ABRIGO – Once again, Discovery School support
Fundacion Abrigo in their mission to lodge families from the rural areas who
come to Hospital Escuela. We are asking our school families to send 1 gallon of disinfectant
per family, and to send it in by Friday, November 21. What a wonderful way to
show our gratitude for what we have – to share what we have with those in need!
BOOK
DONATION - Amor Fe y Esperanza (AFE) is an
organization located on the outskirts of Tegucigalpa that has been rescuing
children from the garbage dump and breaking the cycle of poverty in their
lives. AFE is in the process of furnishing its library. We are asking for any
new or used Spanish books (children’s books, novels, nonfiction, encyclopedias
etc.) you might have and that you would like to donate to the AFE library. These books can be brought and given to your
homeroom teacher. If you would like more

FAMILY BINGO NIGHT – The DPTO will be hosting fun
filled BINGO evening for Discovery families and friends on Friday, December 5.
Incredible prizes are in store for those who attend! Food and drinks will be

MEDIO PERIODO - Los Reportes de Medio periodo para
el segundo trimestre serán emitidos y enviados este viernes 21 de noviembre.
Favor fírmelos y envíelos de regreso antes del feriado de Acción de Gracias. Si
desea una conferencia, y no le ha sido solicitada por el maestro, favor llame
al maestro y haga una cita.
BASQUETBOL ABSH – Ms. Yery Villeda llevó un grupo de alumnos de
secundaria a San Pedro Sula a participar en el torneo anual de basquetbol de
ABSH. Estamos muy orgullosos de la dedicación y arduo trabajo de estos jóvenes bajo
la guiánza de Ms. Yery. Han representado muy bien a Discovery!
BAZAR NAVIDEÑO –
La comunidad de Servicio Social de la escuela está organizando un Bazar Navideño
el sábado 22 de noviembre. Comience temprano sus compras de navidad! Corra la
voz con su familia y amigos!
DE LA OFICINA DE CONSEJERIA –
Charla de Pubertad – La Dra. Karen Fúnes (ginecóloga) estará
impartiendo una charla informativa el día miércoles 26 de noviembre, desde las
8:00 a 9:00 a.m., a las niñas de 5to y 6to grado sobre los cambios que ocurren
durante la etapa de desarrollo de la pubertad. Enviamos notas de permiso con
sus hijos la semana pasada, para que firme si desea que su hija asista a esta presentación.

Fundación Abrigo en su misión de dar habitación a las familias de las áreas
