socks, and food items for the Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos Giving Tree. The children will be blessed by your
gifts. If you took a tag, but still have
not brought the item to school, please do so as soon as possible.

We are asking the parents of these students to save their projects
for the possibility of participating in future local and national Science
Fairs!
SONG FEST – Please mark your calendars for this year’s Song Fest. There has a been a change in time! The
performances will begin at 5:30 p.m. Please plan ahead for traffic or
other delays! This year’s theme is “Broadway”. The DPTO will be selling food
and dessert, and there will be a Xmas photo booth for taking pictures.
FROM THE CONSELOR’S OFFICE –
***We wish to
congratulate Victoria Glynn on her
admission to Michigan State University.
Victoria has also been invited to join the Honors
College in MSU and be awarded some significant scholarships. Way to go
Victoria!
*** Our
congratulations also go to Katarina Fenn
on her admission to Trevecca Nazarene
University in Tennessee. Katarina has been offered a significant
scholarship. Kudos to you, Katarina!
****Dr. Javier
Almendarez ( pediatrician) will be giving an informative talk on Dec. 16 (
Tuesday) from 11:00 - 11:45 a.m, to the
boys from 5th - 6th grade, on changes that occur during the puberty stage of
development. We sent a permission slip with your child last week for you to
sign if you wish for your son to attend this presentation.
SWEATERS AND JACKETS –
Children often tend to misplace their jackets and sweaters during this cold
season. We ask parents, teachers and students to take any clothing item they
find to Ms. Carolina (Lost and Found box located in the main office).
COMMUNITY
SERVICE CLUB- Helping Hand, Discovery's Community
Service Club, will meet in Mrs. Agurcia's Room on Tuesday, December 9th at
lunch to discuss the upcoming Christmas Party for the NPH children. All secondary students are invited to attend
the meeting and find out more about this club.
XMAS BASKETS - Christmas
is the season to open our hearts and share with those around us that need it
most. It has been a tradition at Discovery
School

Please feel free
to send any additional goodies that you want to share with our devoted
staff, such as canned goods, instant soups, cookies and crackers, or anything
else that does not require refrigeration.
Please send these items no later than Monday, December
15th. Your cooperation will be deeply appreciated.

FESTIVAL DE LA CANCION – Favor marque en sus calendarios la fecha del
Festival de la Canción de este año. Hemos
hecho un cambio en la hora! Las
presentaciones comenzarán a las 5:30 p.m. Favor planifiquen con tiempo
el trafico o cualquier otro atraso! Este año el tema será “Broadway”. El DPTO
estará vendiendo comida y postres, y tendrán una cabina de fotos navideña para
tomarse bellas fotografías.

***Deseamos felicitar a Victoria Glynn por su aceptación en la Universidad Estatal de Michigan.
Victoria también fue invitada a unirse al Honors

****El Dr. Javier
Almendarez (pediatra) estará ofreciendo una charla informativa el 16 de diciembre
(martes) desde las 11:00 – 11:45 a.m., a los niños de 5to – 6to grado, sobre
los cambios que ocurren durante la etapa de la pubertad. Enviamos una nota de
permiso con su hijo la semana pasada para que la firme si su hijo puede asistir
a esta presentación.
SUÉTERES Y CHAQUETAS – Los niños usualmente tienen la tendencia de
olvidar sus chaquetas y suéteres durante la época de frio. Les pedimos a los
padres, maestros y alumnos que tomen cualquier pieza de ropa que encuentren y
se la lleven a Ms. Carolina (a la caja de objetos perdidos en la oficina).
CLUB DE SERVICIO COMUNITARIO – Una mano que ayuda, el Club de Servicio
Comunitario de Discovery, se reunirá en el aula de Mrs. Agurcia este martes 9
de diciembre a la hora de almuerzo a hablar de la fiesta de navidad que se
aproxima para los niños de NPH. Todos los alumnos de secundaria están invitados
a asistir a la reunión y conocer más de este club.
CANASTAS NAVIDEÑAS – La Navidad es la época para abrir nuestros
corazones y compartir con aquellos que nos rodean y más lo necesitan. Ha sido
una tradición en la Escuela Discovery que los alumnos se solidaricen y
contribuyan en la recolección de canastas con víveres para nuestro personal de
apoyo. Les solicitamos su colaboración enviando lo siguiente:
