PROGRESS REPORTS
– Midterm progress reports were sent home with your child last Friday, February 12. Please discuss the
report with your child and send the report back to school with your signature
as soon as possible.
SECONDARY NEWS:
DAILY
ATTENDANCE – We would like to remind
parents that it is extremely important that your child arrives to school on
time EVERY DAY. By getting to school
on time, your child is able to organize his/her locker and backpack, turn in
all homework, and still have time to meet and greet his friends. When your
child is late to school, he come to class stressed out, interrupts the class,
and misses important information given by the teacher at the beginning of the
class. We strongly recommend your child arrives to school by 7:45 a.m. There is
a warning bell at 7:55 a.m. and then classes begin promptly at 8:00 a.m.
AP EXAMS
(grades 10 – 12 ONLY) – The school will
be ordering AP exams by the end of the month. A letter was sent home with your
child (ONLY IF YOUR CHILD IS TAKING AN AP CLASS) on Monday, February 1, to
order the exams needed. If you need an additional copy of the letter sent home,
please do not hesitate to contact Ms. Gloria. The last day to receive your
confirmation is Friday, February 26. The
school will be ordering the exams on Monday, February 29.
AP BULLETIN
FOR AP STUDENTS AND PARENTS (grades 10 – 12 ONLY) –
A guide was given to all students planning on taking the AP exams in May. The
guide includes a student checklist, getting ready for the exam day, and the
2016 exam schedule. Please read it with your child so you are better informed
about the exams.
MODEL UNITED
NATIONS CLUB (Secondary ONLY) – The school
is finalizing the logistics for the trip to San Pedro Sula. A letter was sent home with your child (ONLY
IF YOUR CHILD IS IN THE MODEL UN CLUB) on Thursday, February 4. If you need an
additional copy of the letter sent home, please do not hesitate to contact Ms.
Gloria. Payment needs to be done before Tuesday, February 22.
ABSH SCIENCE
FAIR - The school would like to
congratulate the students who will represent the school in the ABSH Science
Fair that will take place in San Pedro Sula on February 19 and 20. The students are: Ashling McCaul and Kelvin
Myers. Way to go, Wolves!!!
NOCHE BENEFICIOSA – The Juniors are inviting all the Discovery School Community to a Noche Beneficiosa that will take place on Wednesday, February 24 at Restaurante Las Tejitas, end of Boulevard Morazan, and beginning at 5:00 p.m. The profit will go towards their Community Service of the 2016-2017 school year. You and your family are invited!

We congratulate Gabriel Rodriguez on his admission into the University of Tampa and the HONORS program. Based on his academics
he was awarded a significant academic scholarship. Way to go, Gabriel!
Our senior student, Juan Diego Caballero, was also admitted to Flagler College in Florida and was awarded the PRESIDENTIAL
SCHOLARSHIP for his academic excellence. Well done, Juan Diego!
On the same note, we also wish to
congratulate Pamela Lopez on her
admission to Santa Fe College in Florida. We are very proud
of you, Pamela!
DPTO BINGO
– We would like to invite all our school community to join the DPTO in a
wonderful night of great food, awesome prices and lots of fun. The Bingo will
take place on Friday, February 19 at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are L200 and can be
purchased from any DPTO member or Ms. Gaby is in the office. 
CAFETERIA LUNCH
– The School Cafeteria is inviting all parents to
come and have lunch with their child(ren) this Friday, February 19. Order forms
will be sent home on Tuesday.

NOTICIAS DE SECUNDARIA:
ASISTENCIA DIARIA – Queremos recordarles a los padres que es
extremadamente importante que sus hijos lleguen a la escuela a tiempo TODOS LOS DÍAS. Al llegar a tiempo, le
da tiempo a su hijo(a) a organizar su casillero y mochila, entregar las tareas,
y todavía tener tiempo para saludar a sus amigos. Cuando su hijo(a) llega
tarde, llega a las clases estresado, interrumpe la clase, y se pierde de
información importante que los maestros dan al inicio de la clase. Firmemente
les recomendamos que sus hijos lleguen a la escuela antes de las 7:45 a.m.
Suena una campana de aviso a las 7:55 a.m. y las clases comienzan a las 8:00
a.m. en punto.
EXÁMENES AP (SOLAMENTE grados de 10 –
12) – La escuela estará
solicitando los exámenes AP al final del mes. Se envío una carta con su
hijo(a) (SOLAMENTE SI SU HIJO(A) ESTA
LLEVANDO UNA CLASE AP) el lunes 1 de febrero, para solicitar los exámenes necesarios.
Si necesita una copia adicional de la carta que se envió favor no dude en
comunicarse con Ms. Gloria. El último día para recibir la confirmación es el viernes 26 de febrero. La escuela
estará ordenando los exámenes el día lunes 29 de febrero.
BOLETIN AP PARA ALUMNOS Y PADRES
(SOLAMENTE grados 10 - 12) - Se le entrego una guía a todos los alumnos que
planean tomar los exámenes AP en mayo. Esta guía incluye una lista de revisión para
el alumno, para prepararse para el día del examen, y el horario de exámenes del
2016. Favor léanla con su hijo(a) para que estén mejor informados acerca de los
exámenes.
CLUB DE MODELO DE NACIONES UNIDAS
(SOLAMENTE secundaria) – La
escuela está terminando la logística del viaje a San Pedro Sula. Se envió una
carta con su hijo(a) (SOLAMENTE SI SU HIJO(A) ESTA EN EL CLUB DE MODELO DE NACIONES
UNIDAS) el jueves 4 de febrero. Si necesita una copia adicional de la carta que
se envió favor no dude en comunicarse con Ms. Gloria. Los pagos deben ser
realizados antes del martes 22 de febrero.
FERIA DE CIENCIAS ABSH – La escuela desea felicitar a los alumnos que nos
representaran en la Feria de Ciencias ABSH que se realizará en San Pedro Sula
