CHOIR NEWS
Our Choir and Jazz wolves have been invited to entertain the attendees to Casa David´s silent auction on Sunday, November 20. More information will be sent to parents about the drop off and pick up times and place for this event.

SCIENCE FAIR NEWS!
Our students continue working on their Science Fair projects. Most of the Science Fair work will be done in school, but cooperation from the parents will be required for materials, follow ups and continued communication.
The students who have not yet begun their project should do so as soon as possible!
This year´s Science Fair will take place on Friday, December 2, 2016.

¡Noticias de la Feria de Ciencias!
Nuestros estudiantes continúan trabajando en sus proyectos de ciencias. La mayor parte del trabajo de la Feria de Ciencias se hará en la escuela, pero se requerirá la cooperación de los padres para los materiales, seguimientos y la comunicación continua. ¡Los estudiantes que aún no han iniciado su proyecto deben hacerlo tan pronto como sea posible!
Este año la Feria de Ciencias se llevará a cabo el viernes 2 de diciembre de 2016.

PUNCTUALITY – Classes begin at 8:00 a.m. promptly every day. Students are expected to arrive before 8:00 am every day. There is a warning bell at 7:55 a.m. and any student who is not in class by 8:00 a.m. is considered tardy. When students arrive early to school, they can organize their lockers and materials, they can turn in their homework, they can socialize, and they can also seek teachers for assistance. When they arrive late to school, they get stressed out, classes are interrupted, and they miss important information provided at the beginning of the class. We kindly request your assistance in this matter.
MAKE UP WORK POLICY - It is the responsibility of the student to obtain make up assignments from the teachers and to see that the completed work is submitted within the allotted number of days.
- If a student is absent for 1 or 2 days, he/she MUST bring an excuse from home in order to be able to make up the missing work
- If a student is absent for 3 or more days, he/she MUST bring an excuse from the doctor in order to be able to make up the missing work
- If the student brings an appropriate excuse, he/she will have 1 day per day missed to make up his/her work.
- If the student fails to present his/her work due, he/she will receive no points for the work.

PUNTUALIDAD -- Las clases comienzan a las 8:00 a.m. puntualmente cada día. Se espera que los estudiantes lleguen antes de las 8:00 am todos los días. Hay una campana previa que suena a las 7:55 a.m. y cualquier estudiante que no esté en la clase antes de las 8:00 am se considera tarde. Cuando los estudiantes llegan temprano a la escuela, pueden organizar sus casilleros y materiales, pueden entregar sus tareas, pueden socializar, y también pueden buscar a los maestros para recibir ayuda. Cuando llegan tarde a la escuela, ellos se estresan, interrumpen la clase, y se pierden información importante proporcionada al comienzo de la clase. Se solicita amablemente su ayuda en este asunto.
Normas de Recuperación de Trabajo - Es la responsabilidad del estudiante para obtener reponer las asignaciones que han dejado los maestros y para ver que el trabajo realizado se presentará en el número de días asignado.
- Si un estudiante está ausente durante 1 o 2 días, él / ella debe traer una excusa de su casa con el fin de poder reponer el trabajo perdido.
- Si un estudiante está ausente durante 3 o más días, él / ella debe traer una excusa por parte del médico con el fin de poder reponer el trabajo perdido.
- Si el estudiante trae una excusa apropiada, él / ella tendrá 1 día por día perdido para reponer su trabajo.
- Si el estudiante no presenta su trabajo previsto, él / ella no recibirá ningún punto por el trabajo.

ABSH BASKETBALL – The Infantil and Pre Juvenil boys will be representing the school in the ABSH Basketball tournament hosted by the American School of Tegucigalpa. This event will take place on November 2-5. We wish them all good luck.
AASCA TRACK & FIELD / CROSS COUNTRY – For the first time, our school will be sending a team to compete in an international competition hosted by the American School of El Salvador. Our team will be competing from November 9-13. We also wish them good luck!! GO WOLVES!!!
Note to Parents and Students Training for Track & Field will continue 4 times a week (Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays). All practices are mandatory, and will run from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. Most will be held on or near the school grounds and occasionally (with previous notice) we will be practicing at the UNAH.

ABSH BALONCESTO - El Equipo de Infantil y Pre Juvenil estarán representando a la escuela en el torneo ABSH baloncesto organizado por la Escuela Americana de Tegucigalpa. Este evento se llevará a cabo de noviembre 2-5. Les deseamos buena suerte.
AASCA ATLETISMO / CAMPO TRAVIESA - Por primera vez, nuestra escuela va a enviar un equipo para competir en un concurso internacional organizado por la Escuela Americana de El Salvador. Nuestro equipo estará compitiendo del 9 de noviembre al 13. ¡También les deseamos buena suerte! ¡Vamos Lobos!
Nota para los padres de familia y a los estudiantes que seguirán practicando Atletismo se continuará 4 veces a la semana (lunes, martes, miércoles y jueves). Todas las prácticas son obligatorias, e inician a las 3:15 p.m. hasta las 4:15 p.m. La mayoría de las practicas se llevarán a cabo en o cerca de las instalaciones de la escuela y de vez en cuando (con previo aviso) estaremos practicando en la UNAH.

FUNDACION ABRIGO – Is an organization which provides lodging for families from outside Tegucigalpa who bring their families/patients to the largest state medical facility, Hospital Escuela. Discovery School in solidarity with Fundacion Abrigo is asking for a donation of 1 GALON OF DISINFECTANT per family. Thank you very much! It is always far better to give than to receive!
