The countdown for the Winter Break has officially begun! These will be very busy and exciting days!
SEMESTER EXAMS (HIGH SCHOOL ONLY) – Semester exams will be conducted for students in Grades 9-12 for English, Math, Science, Social Studies and Spanish on December 13-15. HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WILL NOT HAVE REGULAR CLASSES THESE DAYS. The schedule was developed with input from the students. Ms. Gloria has provided the semester exam schedule to the secondary students and teachers, as follows:

SONGFEST – Please mark your calendars for December 16 at 6:00 p.m. Our students and teachers are working hard to present a multicultural musical evening! We will start on time, so please adjust your plans for the traffic at that time and try to be here for the beginning—we don’t want you to miss anything!
DISCOVERY SCHOOL CHOIR CD - Congratulations to Ms. Norma, Ms. Pamela and the Discovery School Choir and their parents for the completion of the CD recording. What a great accomplishment of a six-month project! Please support this Music Department Fundraising Activity by purchasing (L.200) a copy as a unique Holiday gift!
DISCOVERY SCHOOL COOKBOOK – The DPTO is selling the Discovery School Cookbook at an unbelievable price of L250. What a great gift for this Holiday Season. If you are interested, please talk to Ms. Carolina in the administration office, or to any DPTO officer.
TRACK AND FIELD COMPETITION RESULTS – On November 15 we received information from the Sports Committee for Bilingual Schools on the official results of the track and field competition in which our students participated, as follows:

UNF INTERNS – The three University of Northern Florida student teachers who were with us for three weeks have gone back to the States with amazing opinions about our school and Honduras. Special THANKS to all who made their stay with us such a successful experience (especially to Ms. Cristiana, Ms. Ashley, Ms. Valencia, Ms. Maricarmen and Ms. Regina). Two of the three interns have shown an interest in returning to work at Discovery School, and this speaks highly of the kind of school, staff, students and community we have. Kudos!

La cuenta regresiva para las vacaciones de invierno ha empezado oficialmente! Estos serán días muy ocupados y muy emocionantes.
EXAMENES SEMESTRALES (SOLAMENTE SECUNDARIA) – Se llevaran a cabo los exámenes semestrales de los grados 9, 10, 11 y 12 para las asignaturas de English, Math, Science, Social Studies y Español del 13 al 15 de diciembre. LOS ALUMNOS DE SECUNDARIA NO TENDRAN CLASES REGULARES ESTOS DIAS. El horario fue desarrollado tomando en cuenta las preferencias de los estudiantes. Ms. Gloria ha proporcionado el calendario de exámenes para los alumnos y maestros de secundaria, a continuación detallado:

FESTIVAL DE LA CANCION - Favor marcar en sus calendarios el 16 de diciembre a las 6:00 pm. Nuestros alumnos y maestros están trabajando arduamente para presentarnos una velada musical multicultural! Empezaremos puntualmente, así que por favor prevea el trafico de esa hora para que pueda estar desde el principio – no queremos que se pierda nada!!
CD DEL CORO DE DISCOVERY SCHOOL – Felicidades a Ms. Norma, Ms. Pamela y el coro de la Escuela Discovery, y sus padres por completar la grabación del CD. Que gran logro para un proyecto de 6 meses! Favor apoye esta actividad de recaudación de fondos del departamento de música comprando (L.200) una copia, como regalo de navidad único!
LIBRO DE COCINA DE DISCOVERY SCHOOL – El DPTO esta vendiendo el libro de cocina de Discovery School a un precio increíble de L.250. Un gran regalo de navidad. Si esta interesado, favor hable con Ms. Carolina en la oficina de administración, o a cualquier representante del DPTO.

INTERNOS DE UNF – Los tres estudiantes maestros de la Universidad de Northern Florida que nos acompañaron por 3 semanas han regresado a Estados Unidos con opiniones maravillosas acerca de nuestra escuela y de Honduras. GRACIAS especiales a todos los que lograron que su estadía fuera una experiencia exitosa (especialmente Ms. Cristiana, Ms. Ashley, Ms. Valencia, Ms. Maricarmen y Ms. Regina).
