CONTRIBUTION FOR THE “CANASTAS” - We thank the parents that have already sent their contribution of basic staples and donated canned goods for our support personnel. If you have not done so, there is still time!
CHOIR TO THE RADIO STATION –Our Choir students will be leaving the school on Wednesday Dec. 15 at 8:15 a.m, and will be performing live in HRN at 9:00 am. Be sure to tune in to hear our Discovery School Choir.
SONGFEST – Our Musical presentations are this Thursday December 16. The DPTO will be selling holiday food from 5:00 to 6:00 pm. Come early, enjoy the food with the Discovery School family, and ensure that you are here on time for the first presentation. We will start promptly at 6:00 p.m.—traffic is bad at that time of day so please plan ahead. We don’t want you to miss any of the program. The SongFest should last no more than one hour and thirty minutes.
PERFORMANCE ETIQUETTE: To help teach our students proper performance etiquette, students will sit with their teachers during the presentations. We will have special seating for students clearly identified by grade level. We will also have a designated area for parent seating, as well as indicating where you can go to take pictures or videos of your children. We appreciate your help and support in our efforts to provide a quiet audience for our student performers.
SHOPPING AT DISCOVERY SCHOOL – Do your Christmas shopping at Discovery!! The following will be available at SongFest for purchase:

SEMESTER EXAMS (HIGH SCHOOL ONLY) – Semester exams are being conducted for students in Grades 9-12 for English, Math, Science, Social Studies and Spanish on December 13-15. HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WILL NOT HAVE REGULAR CLASSES THESE DAYS. Ms.Gloria has provided the semester exam schedule to the secondary students and teachers, as shown below.

EL CORO EN LA ESTACION DE RADIO - Nuestros alumnos del coro estarán saliendo de la escuela el miércoles 15 de diciembre a las 8:15 a.m., para cantar en vivo en HRN a las 9:00 a.m. Asegúrese de sintonizarlo para escuchar nuestro coro de Discovery School.
FESTIVAL DE LA CANCION – Nuestra presentación musical es este jueves 16 de diciembre. El DPTO estará vendiendo comida navideña de las 5:00 a las 6:00 p.m. Venga temprano, disfrute el convivio con la familia de la Escuela Discovery y garantice su lugar a tiempo para la primera presentación. Empezaremos a las 6:00 p.m., puntualmente – el trafico es pesado a esa hora así que planéelo con tiempo. No nos gustaría que se pierda nada del programa. El festival de la canción no debe durar más de una hora y media.
COMPORTAMIENTO ADECUADO PARA UNA PRESENTACION - Para ayudar a nuestros alumnos a tener un comportamiento adecuado en la presentación, los alumnos se sentarán con sus maestros durante la presentación. Tendremos lugares especiales para los alumnos que serán identificados claramente por grado. También tendremos un lugar especial para los padres, así como el área adecuada donde puede tomar fotografías o video a su hijo. Apreciaremos su ayuda y apoyo en nuestros esfuerzos de ofrecer un público respetuoso para la actuación de nuestros alumnos.

EXÁMENES SEMESTRALES (SOLO PARA SECUNDARIA) – los exámenes semestrales estan siendo realizados para los alumnos de 9no a 12vo para las clases de English, Math, Science, Social Studies y Español del 13 al 15 de diciembre. LOS ALUMNOS DE SECUNDARIA NO TENDRAN CLASES REGULARES ESTOS DIAS. Ms. Gloria ha proveído los calendarios de los exámenes semestrales a los alumnos y maestros de secundaria, como a continuación se detalla:
