CONFERENCES FOR THE SECOND QUARTER – If you were called for a conference but could not make it, or if you would like to meet with a teacher, please contact the school and set an appointment.
MAP TESTING –Our second MAP testing session begins today.
SPELLING BEE – Discovery School will be proudly hosting this year’s ABSH Spelling Bee. This will take place on Saturday February 5. We have 27 schools registered to attend, and all staff will be on hand to facilitate the competition and make sure our guests are well taken care of.
SCIENCE FAIR –To ensure quality projects and to give our students more time to prepare, our Science Fair has been rescheduled for Thursday February 17.

PARKING LOT AND DISMISSAL– Please continue to exercise patience and work with our security guards and staff to ensure a safe transfer of students back to their parents at the end of our school day.
PLEASE ROLL YOUR WINDOW DOWN WHEN ENTERING AND LEAVING THE SCHOOL
PLEASE DRIVE SLOWLY AT ALL TIMES ON CAMPUS
STUDENT LEAVING CAMPUS DURING SCHOOL DAY – If you need to pick your child up during the school day, please provide a written note to the Receptionist (Carolina) in advance so she can provide your child with a pass to give to the security guard upon leaving. (See Page 22 of Parent-Student Handbook)
STUDENT LEAVING WITH ANOTHER STUDENT AT END OF DAY – Similarly, if you want your child to go home with another student at the end of the school day, please notify that Receptionist (Carolina) in writing, in advance, so she can provide your child with a pass to give to the security guard upon leaving.
REQUEST FOR STUDENT TO RIDE THE BUS – Please be aware that our buses are running at near capacity and there may not be an extra seat and seat belt to accommodate a student who is not a regular bus rider. A request must be provided to the Receptionist (Carolina) in writing, in advance, so she can check to see if there is a seat available. Last minute requests to ride the bus or change buses will be honored ONLY in emergency situations.

CONCURSO DE ORTOGRAFIA (SPELLING BEE) - La Escuela Discovery es el orgulloso anfitrión del concurso de ABSH Spelling Bee de este año, que se llevará a cabo este 5 de febrero. Tenemos inscritas a participar 27 escuelas, y todo el personal estará disponible asistiendo en la competencia para apoyar y asegurar que nuestros invitados estén bien atendidos.
FERIA DE CIENCIAS – Para asegurar proyectos de calidad y para darles a los alumnos tiempo suficiente para prepararse, nuestra Feria de Ciencias ha sido reprogramada para el día jueves 17 de febrero.

BLOGS Y WIKISPACES – Deben ser actualizados antes de las 8:00 am cada lunes en la mañana con la información actual de la semana.
ESTACIONAMIENTO Y DESPACHO – Favor continúe con paciencia y trabajo el seguir las instrucciones de nuestros guardias de seguridad y personal para asegurar un retorno seguro de los alumnos a sus padres al final de la jornada escolar.
FAVOR BAJE SU VENTANA CUANDO ENTRE Y SALGA DE LA ESCUELA
FAVOR MANEJE DESPACIO EN TODO MOMENTO DENTRO DE LAS INSTALACIONES
ALUMNOS SALIENDO DE LA ESCUELA DURANTE CLASES – Si necesita recoger a su hijo/a durante el periodo de clases, favor entregue por adelantado una nota escrita a la Recepcionista (Carolina) para que ella pueda entregar a su hijo/a un pase que debe darle al guardia de seguridad en la salida. (Vea la pagina 22 del Manual de Padre-Alumno)
ALUMNOS SALIENDO CON OTROS ALUMNOS AL FINAL DEL DÍA - De manera parecida, si quiere que su hijo/a vaya a casa con otro alumno al final del día, favor notifique a la Recepcionista (Carolina) por escrito, anticipadamente, para que ella pueda darle a su hijo/a un pase que dará al guardia de seguridad en la salida.
SOLICITUD PARA ALUMNOS QUE USARAN EL BUS – Favor tenga en cuenta que nuestros buses están en su casi máxima capacidad y que talvez no haya un asiento extra con su cinturón de seguridad para acomodar a otro alumno que no es regular en el bus. Una solicitud debe ser hecha a la Recepcionista (Carolina) por escrito, anticipadamente, para que ella pueda revisar si hay asientos disponibles. Las solicitudes de último minuto para irse en el bus serán consideradas SOLO en casos de emergencia.
