WORKSHOP: Congratulations to all our teachers for their outstanding presentations during our 10th Discovery School Workshop, and to our Choir for their remarkable participation in the inaguration. Thanks to all the teachers, administration and support staff who helped throughout the event to make it a success. Our staff’s excellence and professionalism are cornerstones to the outstanding school we have. Kudos to everyone!
ADVANC-ED LATIN AMERICAN CONFERENCE – Debbie will be gone from November 19 through December 3 to attend the Latin American Conference in Atlanta, Georgia that is presented every year by Advanc-ED. During the conference, she will learn about the new requirements that have been put into place for SACS accreditation. She will also meet with Dr. Bill Scotti and Dr. Louis Fuccillo, who are strong U.S. State Department supporters of Discovery School. In Debbie’s absence, Gloria will be in charge of questions regarding the secondary school, and Cristiana will be in charge of questions regarding the elementary school.
ELEMENTARY STUDENT COUNCIL ELECTIONS - The Elementary Student Council elections will be held on Wednesday, November 23.
MID-TERM REPORTS – Midterm reports go out on Wednesday, November 23. If a confernece was not requested and you would like to meet with a teacher, please call the school as soon as possible.
VISIT TO ALISON BIXBY STONE SCHOOL IN ZAMORANO – Last Thursday, November 17, Debbie, Nina Glynn (Board President) and Ivonne visited Alison Bixby Stone School to facilitate a school-to-school relationship with them. Great plans are in the making for exchange of teachers, visits for students and professional development. More information will be given in the near future.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WEDNESDAY – Next Wednesday, November 30 we will have the second staff development Wednesday. This is an early dismissal day for students. We will follow a PM schedule.

CONFERENCIA DE ADVANC-ED DE LATINO AMERICA – Debbie no estará desde el 19 de noviembre hasta el 3 de diciembre para asistir a la Conferencia de Latinoamericana en Atlanta, Georgia la cual es organizada cada año por Advanc-ED. Durante la conferencia, conocerá acerca de los nuevos requisitos que la acreditación de SACS solicita. También se reunirá con el Dr. Bill Scotti y el Dr. Louis Fuccillo, de la Oficina de Estado de EE.UU. Departamento de Escuelas en el Exterior quienes apoyan fuertemente a la Escuela Discovery. En la ausencia de Debbie, Gloria estará a cargo de las consultas concernientes al área de Secundaria, y Cristiana estará a cargo de las consultas concernientes al área de Primaria.
ELECCIONES DE LA ASAMBLEA DEL CONSEJO ESTUDIANTIL – Las elecciones del Consejo Estudiantil de Primaria se llevarán a cabo el miércoles 23 de noviembre.
REPORTES DE MEDIO PERIODO –Los reportes de este período se enviarán a casa este 23 de noviembre. Si no se le ha solicitado una reunión y usted desea reunirse con un maestro, favor llame a la escuela tan pronto como le sea posible.
VISITA A LA ESCUELA ALISON BIXBY STONE EN EL ZAMORANO – El jueves pasado, 17 de noviembre, Debbie, Nina Glynn (Presidente de la Junta) e Ivonne estuvieron de visita en las instalaciones de la Escuela Alison Bixby Stone para abrir paso a la relación de escuela a escuela con ellos. Grandes planes están en proceso para ser intercambiados por los maestros, visitas de alumnos y desarrollo profesional. Mayor información será proporcionada en un futuro cercano.
MIERCOLES DE DESARROLLO PROFESIONAL – El próximo miércoles 30 de noviembre estaremos realizando nuestra segunda reunión del personal para desarrollo profesional. Este día los alumno saldrán a las 11:40 a.m.. Seguiremos un horario PM.
