THANKS TO OUR BOARD MEMBERS – Last Thursday’s Staff Christmas party was a
success. It was marvelous to see our teachers and staff having such fun!
CONGRATULATIONS
TO OUR OUTSTANDING CHOIR – Our students have again made us proud with
magnificent performances at FICOHSA and
the U.S. Embassy last week. Thanks to Ms. Norma and Ms. Pamela for their
continous dedication to our choir, and to Mr. Warren and Mr. Cesar for their
support and help.
AFTER
SCHOOL ACTIVITIES – This is the sixth and final week of our After School
Activities program for the second quarter. There will be no After-School
Activities (ASA) on December 18. Please be sure to pick your child up by 4:00
P.M.
SECONDARY
SEMESTER EXAMS - Students from grade 9 – 12 will be having semester exams
(Language Arts, Social Studies, Math, Science, and Spanish only) beginning
December 12 – December 14. Students will begin their exams at 8:00 am and will
finish at 12:30. They can leave after they are done with their exams. The

SONG
FEST PREPARATION - Thanks for your help in supporting Ms.
Norma and Ms. Pamela with the costumes needed for the SongFest. Please make
sure to plan for traffic so you can be at the school before 6:00 p.m. on
Tuesday, December 18, as we would like to start promptly and we don’t want you
or your child to miss anything!
CHRISTMAS
BASKETS FOR OUR SUPPORT PERSONNEL –Christmas is the season to open our hearts
and share with those around us that need it most. It has been a tradition at
Discovery School for students to come together and contribute in assembling
baskets of goods for our support personnel. We are asking for your
cooperation in sending the following:

or anything else that does not require refrigeration. Please send these
items no later than Friday, December 14. Your participation will be deeply
appreciated.
THANKS
FOR YOUR GENEROSITY - On behalf of the
teachers who are involved with NPH, we want to thank you so much for donating
shoes, socks, and food items for the NPH Giving Tree! All 38 children
were able to receive a new pair of shoes and 6 pairs of socks! About 20
extra pairs of shoes and numerous socks were also donated to the orphanage, as
well as over 10 boxes of food items. Thanks for your generosity!
REINA’S
FAREWELL – If you would like to join us in bidding Reina farewell please plan
on staying on Friday, December 14 to share some laughs and fun. We will meet at
the cafeteria at 3:30 p.m.. The school will provide the drinks, all you need to
do is bring finger food to share, and your good humor!
SECURITY
– Please keep in mind that as the holidays approach, petty theft and muggings
may increase. Be aware of your surroundings and take precautions to make
yourself a ‘hard target’. Don’t display jewelry, expensive phones, etc. when you
are in public.

ESPECIAL AGRADECIMIENTO A LOS MIEMBROS DE LA JUNTA – La fiesta de navidad del
personal del jueves pasado fue un gran éxito. Fue grandioso ver a los maestros
y todo el personal divirtiéndose en grande.

EXTRACURRICULARES - Esta es la sexta y última
semana de nuestro programa de Actividades Extracurriculares para el segundo
periodo. No habrá Actividades Extracurriculares (ASA) del 18 de diciembre.

SEMESTRALES DE SECUNDARIA – Los alumnos de los grados de 9-12 tendrán exámenes

únicamente) el 12 al 14 de diciembre. Los alumnos comenzarán sus exámenes a las

PARA EL FESTIVAL DE LA CANCION - Anticipadamente agradecemos por toda su ayuda
apoyando a Ms. Norma y Ms. Pamela con el vestuario necesario para el Festival
de la Canción. Asegúrese de salir temprano y anticiparse al tráfico para estar
puntuales en la escuela antes de las 6:00 p.m. el martes 18 de diciembre, ya
que nos gustaría comenzar en punto y no nos gustaría que sus hijos se pierdan
de nada!

La Navidad es la época para abrir nuestros corazones y compartir con
aquellos que nos rodean y más lo necesitan. Ha sido una tradición en la Escuela
Discovery que los alumnos se solidaricen y contribuyan en la recolección de
canastas con víveres para nuestro personal de apoyo. Les solicitamos su

GRACIAS
POR SU GENEROSIDAD - En nombre de los
maestros involucrados con NPH, queremos agradecerles por las donaciones de
zapatos, calcetines, y productos alimenticios para el árbol de donaciones de NPH!
Los 38 niños pudieron recibir un par de zapatos nuevos y 6 pares de calcetines
cada uno! Aparte se donaron al orfanato más de 20 pares de zapatos y numerosos
pares de calcetines, así como 10 cajas de productos alimenticios. Muchas
gracias por su generosidad!
DESPEDIDA
DE REINA – Si desea acompañarnos en una reunión de despedida para Reina por
favor planifique quedarse el viernes 14 de diciembre para compartir risas y diversión.
Nos reuniremos en la Cafeteria a las 3:30 p.m. La escuela proporcionará las
bebidas, todo lo que tiene que hacer es traer bocadillos para compartir, y su
buen humor!
SEGURIDAD
- Por favor recuerde que a medida que
las festividades se acercan, los asaltos y robos aumentan. Permanezca alerta de
sus alrededores y tome precauciones para hacerse un blanco difícil. No muestre joyería,
teléfonos caros, etc. cuando este en público.
