REPORT CARDS AND CONFERENCES THIS FRIDAY, OCTOBER 25–There will be no classes
this Friday, October 25 for conferences with our students and parents. At that
time, the report cards for Quarter 1 will be given to the parents..Conferences
for the first quarter are mandatory at Discovery School. Early Childhood and Elementary teachers will send
their conference appointment forms home today. Middle and High School teachers
will talk to parents on a first come, first serve basis. We remind our parents
to attend their conferences with their children to discuss their academic
progress in the first quarter.
STUDENT EVALUATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: If your child has been evaluated by a psychologist, psychiatrist, or
other specialist, the resulting report should be provided to either Ms. Giles
or Ms. Marilis, and not to the teacher directly. Please contact Ms. Giles if
you have any questions or comments on this procedure.
CHILDREN’S OPERA AT THE MANUEL BONILLA – Grades Kindergarten through Fifth have been invited to the presentation
of LA TORTUGA YLA MAGICA CANCION
VOLUNTEERS FOR THE U.N. DAY FASHION SHOW - The DPTO is organizing an International Fashion Show for the UN Day, and
we need your help! If you want to participate by modeling or by lending us any
typical costume that you may have, please contact Marielos or Alexanderia at

- CATS PRESENTATION
FOR MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS – Due
to circumstances beyond our control, the "Cats" presentation has
been cancelled. We will return the money paid for the event as soon
as we receive a refund of our advance payment. The day that we send it
with your son/daughter will be announced beforehand.
DONATIONS NEEDED: Don’t forget to send in cereal boxes for “Ya Tengo Donde Escribir” between now and November 20. The
grade that brought the most boxes will be awarded a pizza party or ice cream
party! Please help us help those in need!

CALIFICACIONES Y
CONFERENCIAS, ESTE VIERNES 25 DE OCTUBRE – Este viernes 25 de octubre no habrán
clases para realizar conferencias con nuestros alumnos y padres. En ese
momento, se entregarán a los padres las calificaciones del primer trimestre. Las
conferencias del primer trimestre son obligatorias en la Escuela Discovery.
Los maestros de pre-escolar y primaria enviarán las citas de sus conferencias
el día de hoy. Los maestros de secundaria hablarán con los padres en base a
orden de llegada. Recordamos a nuestros padres asistir a sus conferencias con
sus hijos para discutir el progreso académico del primer trimestre.
EVALUACIONES Y
RECOMENDACIONES DE ALUMNOS: Si su hijo(a) ha sido evaluado por un
psicólogo, psiquiatra, u otro especialista, el reporte del resultado debe ser
entregado a Ms. Giles o Ms. Marilís, y no directamente al maestro. Por favor
comuníquese con Ms. Giles si tiene preguntas o comentarios acerca de este
procedimiento.
OPERA DE NIÑOS EN EL
MANUEL BONILLA – Los
niños de Kínder hasta Quinto grado han sido invitados a la presentación de LA
TORTUA Y LA MAGICA CANCION UWUNGELEMA, la primera ópera para niños
presentada en Honduras. Esta ópera fue escrita y dirigida por el Maestro Jorge Mejia. Los alumnos asistirán
a la presentación el miércoles 6 de noviembre. Saldremos de la escuela a las
8:00 a.m. y regresaremos a las 11:00 a.m. La tarifa por la entrada y transporte
es de L180.00, el cual debe ser
enviado a la escuela a mas tardar el viernes 1 de noviembre. Para este paseo,
cada grado debe llevar un padre acompañante
por cada 4 alumnos. Si le interesa por favor comuníquese con el maestro
de su hijo(a).
VOLUNTARIOS PARA EL DESFILE DE MODA EN EL DÍA DE
LAS NACIONES UNIDAS - El DPTO está
organizando un Desfile de Moda Internacional para el Día de las Naciones Unidas
y necesitamos su ayuda! Si desean participar modelando o prestándonos algún
traje típico que puedan tener, por favor comunicarse con Marielos

adelantado que se envió. El día que se envíe con su hijo(a) lo
anunciaremos por adelantado.
