WELCOME
TO A GREAT SCHOOL YEAR – On behalf of our faculty and staff I would like to
welcome you once again to what will be an amazing new school year. Our teachers have worked very hard in getting your classrooms ready
and welcoming parents and students. Your support and involvement is crucial to
your child’s success at school, and is greatly appreciated by our teachers.
This will surely be an amazing school year!
ACCESS
ROAD TO DISCOVERY SCHOOL – We would like to thank
the prompt response we received from Mr. Edgardo Reyes in our request for work
on the access road to our school. The situation presented a problem of safety
and well being for our school families, and even though this solution is not a
permanent one, it provides us with time to seek a more permanent solution.It is
worth mentioning that the cost of the work done was greatly reduced because of
Mr. Reyes’ generosity, who offered the labor and the materials needed at cost.
NOCHE
BENEFICIOSA – The Community Service Club thanks all
our parents, students and teachers who supported their fund raising event last
Friday. All the funds will go to the community service club, which in turn will
organize events for the children at Nuestros Pequenos Hermaños.
DISCOVERY
SCHOOL CHOIR – As you all know, our School Choir
was part of an international presentation at Carneige Hall this summer. We
would like to share the content of an email sent to Ms. Norma and Ms. Pamela
(our choir directors) from DCNY regarding our school’s participation in this
event:
THANK YOU SO MUCH for everything you did making this
performance a reality. The Discovery
Choir was FANTASTIC, the energy and enthusiasm they brought with them to New
Yorkw as infectious. They are such
wonderful young people and their talent and professionalism is a credit to the
amazing work you both do as their teachers.
I am honored to have met you both, and to have played
a small part in the
success of that incredible concert. It is hard to express how impressed I
am with your organization and the quality of Discovery
Choir, you represent
Honduras very well!
Sincerely, I hope our paths will cross again someday!

our new school cafeteria we invite you to do so! Accounts for students can be
easily set up by the cafeteria administration.

CALLE DE ACCESO A LA ESCUELA - Queremos agradecer al Sr. Edgardo Reyes por su
pronta respuesta a nuestra solicitud de trabajo en el acceso de Discovery
School. Francamente, el problema ya se
trataba de la cuestión de seguridad y bienestar familiar del Colegio, y aunque
esta solución no será la final, es un avance que nos da tiempo para buscar
soluciones más permanentes. Cabe
mencionar que el costo de la obra fue reducido por la generosidad del Sr. Reyes,
quien facilitó la mano de obra y materiales a costo.
NOCHE BENEFICIOSA - El Club de
Servicio Comunitario agradece a los padres, alumnos y maestros que apoyaron su
evento para recaudar fondos el pasado viernes. Todos los fondos irán para el
club de servicio comunitario, los cuales organizarán eventos para los niños de
Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos.
CORO DE LA ESCUELA DISCOVERY – Como todos saben, el Coro de la escuela fue parte
de una presentación internacional durante el verano en el Carnegie Hall.
Queremos compartir el contenido de un correo electrónico que fue enviado a Ms.
Norma y Ms. Pamela (nuestras directoras del coro) de parte de DCINY referente a
la participación de este evento:
MUCHAS GRACIAS por todo lo que
hicieron para hacer realidad esta presentación. El Coro de la Escuela Discovery
estuvo FANTASTICO, la energía y entusiasmo que trajeron a Nueva York fue
contagioso. Es un maravilloso grupo de jóvenes y su talento y profesionalismo
es un reconocimiento del excelente trabajo que ambas hacen como maestras.
Me siento honrado de conocerles, y
de haber sido protagonista de una pequeña parte en el éxito de tan increíble concierto.
Es difícil expresar cuan impresionado estoy con su organización y la calidad
del Coro de Discovery, ustedes representan muy bien a Honduras!
Sinceramente, espero que nuestro
caminos se vuelvan a cruzar algún día!

PUBLICACIONES EN LOS BLOGS – Por favor no olvide revisar la información de los
blogs de nuestros maestros cada semana. Fácilmente
puede tener acceso a los blogs por medio de la página web de la escuela y
mantenerse informados sobre las grandes cosas que estamos haciendo en la
escuela.
CAFETERIA DE LA ESCUELA – Si no ha tenido la oportunidad de detenerse en
nuestra nueva cafetería escolar, le invitamos a hacerlo! Fácilmente puede abrir
cuentas para los alumnos por la administración de la cafetería.
DE LA OFICINA DE FINANZAS – Deseamos informarles que los carnets de pago ya están
listos. Favor reclamarlos en la oficina de la administración, con Ms.
Maria Eugenia.
INFORMACION EN LOS MEMOS DE LOS LUNES – Favor envíe cualquier información que desee
incluir en nuestro Memo de los lunes semanal a Ms. Cristiana (cbanegas@discoveryschool.edu.hn)
antes del mediodía el día viernes.
