FUN RUN – The DPTO wishes to thank the students,

HARLEM
GOSPEL CHOIR CONCERT – To commemorate the 100th
anniversary of the Honduran national theater, and to celebrate Black History
Month, The U. S. Embassy is presenting the outstanding New York Harlem Gospel
Choir. They will be performing at Teatro Manuel Bonilla on February 4 and 5.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m., concert starts at 6:00 p.m. The entrance to these
concerts is FREE!
HARLEM
GOSPEL CHOIR VISIT TO DISCOVERY SCHOOL - Furthermore,
these distinguished guests will be visiting Discovery School on Tuesday,
February 3 from 11:00 a.m. to12:00 m.
CHOIR WORKSHOP WITH THE
HARLEM GOSPEL CHOIR - Choir students will have the
opportunity to receive a workshop with the Harlem Gospel Choir on Wednesday,
February 4 at 1:00-2:00 p.m. in the Teatro Manuel Bonilla leave the school at
12:15 p.m. and return to school before dismissal at 3:00 p.m. Please make accomodations for the following
students who will miss the last two periods of class on Wednesday: Ruth Chimirri, Sara Lily Bueso, Claudia
Torres, Isabella Stork, Yudia Alvarado, Fiorella Alvarado, Katina Alvarado,

Language Arts Festival – Our school will be
participating in the annual ABSH Language Arts festival, this year held at the
International School of Tegucigalpa. Our contestants for Spelling Bee are: Gabriel Rivas, Sebastian Konipsberger, David
Martinzs, Jorge Ortez, Alejandra Gomez, Sofia Sherman, and Jose Ricardo Lainez.
For Speech: Cesia Aleman, Aisleen Turner, Liam Turner. For
Ortografia: Adriana Jimenez, Valentina
Plama, Adriana Lanza, Anacamila Palma, Rolando Kattan, Laura Toncel, Francisco
Echeverria. For Oratoria: Roberto Nuñez, Maria Alejandra Toncel, and Diego Aguilar. Ms. Cara
Shelton and Ms. Marisela Urquia will serve as judges, and Ms. Cristiana Banegas
has been invited to speak in the inauguration ceremony of the event.

CONFERENCE IN SAN FRANCISCO – Dr. Ketterer will be
attending the Annual International Educators’ Conference from February 6 to
February 13. In
his absence, please refer any special circumstance to each area administrator.

Seniors News - Santiago Robayo, senior from our 2015
class, has been accepted for admission into the Bachelor of Business
Administration program at Hult
International Business School in San Francisco. We are confident that he
will be a valuable addition to this university. Congratulations Santiago!
Eastern University in Pennsylvania, recently admitted Katarina Fenn.
Way to go Katarina!
Victoria Glynn has been
also admitted to UNC Chapel Hill (North
Carolina). Great job!

Ojo: CAYOS COCHINOS - SWITCHED TO TELA– The Cayos
Cochinos trip of the 12th grade has been cancelled because of an
incompatibility of the dates for the trip.
So, as part of TES, Trabajo Educativo Social, the 12th graders will be
going to Tela on March 2 to 7 to assist the community of Garífunas. They
are in need of school materials, so the Senior class has decided to conduct a
school supply drive. They would appreciate any and all donations but wish to
ask the following classes that each student contributes the following:
Nursery and Kinder – I pack of 12 colored markers
1st and 2nd – 2
pencil sharpeners
3rd and 4th – 1 pack of 12 colored pencils
5th – 2 scissors
6th to 8th – 2 normal sized composition notebooks
9th – 1 blue, black and red pen
10th – 1 pack of 12 pencils and two erasers
11th – 4 UHU glue sticks
WE WOULD ALSO GREATLY APPRECIATE ANY
SPANISH BOOK DONATIONS. Please help not only the Senior class, but also the lovely
people in Tela.
CAMINATA POR LA DIVERSION DPTO - El DPTO
desea agradecer a los alumnos, padres y maestros que asistieron a la Caminata
por la Diversión del sábado pasado. Agradecemos en gran manera su apoyo en las

CONCIERTO DEL CORO HARLEM GOSPEL – Para conmemorar el Centenario del Teatro
Nacional de Honduras, y para celebrar el Mes de la Historia Afroamericana, la
Embajada Americana está presentando el destacado Coro Harlem Gospel de Nueva York.
Habrá una presentación en el Teatro Manuel Bonilla los días 4 y 5 de febrero. Las
puertas abrirán a las 5:30 p.m., el concierto comienza a las 6:00 p.m. La
entrada al concierto es GRATIS!

COCHINOS – SE CAMBIO A TELA – El viaje
a Cayos Cochinos del 12vo grado ha sido cancelado por incompatibilidad en las
fechas del mismo. Así que, como parte del TES, Trabajo Educativo Social,
los alumnos de 12vo grado estarán viajando a Tela del 2 al 7 de marzo para
ayudar a la comunidad de Garífunas. Ellos tienen necesidad de materiales
escolares, así que la clase de los seniors ha decidió conducir una recolección
de materiales escolares. Ellos apreciarán cualquier donación pero desean
