SPRING
GENERAL ASSEMBLY – The
Discovery School’s second General Assembly meeting is scheduled for Saturday, May 16, 2015, at 9:00 a.m. at
the school's cafeteria. There will be 4 vacancies on the Board of
Directors. This is a call for nominations to fill these vacancies at the
meeting.
All Discovery School Board members serve as individuals committed to the philosophy, vision and mission of the school. Although Board members do not represent any particular community, constituency, or organization in Board service, the composition of the Discovery School Board should reflect as much as possible the character and nature of our diverse community.
Volunteer Board members, of course, bring many skills and talents to their Board responsibilities. Organizational strengths in areas such as strategic planning, finance, marketing, fundraising, legal, communications, human resource development, etc. are welcome.
Individuals who are nominated and agree to stand for membership election to the Discovery School Board of Directors will be making a commitment to a two-year term. They will agree to attend monthly two- to three-hour Board meetings and to contribute an additional three to four hours a month to Board of Directors committee, task group or other Board-related volunteer work. Nominees for the Discovery School Board must be a member in good standing at the time of election to the board and throughout that person’s term of office.
Interested individuals may submit their candidacy or nominate others to the Discovery School Board by completing a Nomination Form (Click Here) and submitting it by Wednesday, May 13, 2015, to dsoffice@discoveryschool.edu.hn. Nominations will still be accepted the day of the General Assembly, as specified in our by-laws.
