MIDDLE SCHOOL FIELD TRIPS (March 13 - 16) - parents and students who signed up for the different field trips need to make the final payments with Ms.Belgica in the Finance Office.

ADVANCED PLACEMENT (AP) EXAMS (grades 10 - 12) - The time has come to order AP exams. The school needs confirmation on whether your child will take the AP exam(s) or not. A letter was sent home on Monday, January 23. If we do not get confirmation from you by FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 24, we will understand that your child WILL NOT take the AP exam(s).

VIAJES DE SECUNDARIA – (13-16 de marzo) Los padres de familia y estudiantes que se inscribieron para los diferentes viajes deben hacer los pagos finales con Ms. Bélgica en la Oficina de Finanzas. Fecha de vencimiento era el viernes 27 de enero.
EXAMENES DE AP (Advanced Placement) (grados 10 - 12) - Ha llegado el momento de ordenar los exámenes AP (Advanced Placement) . La escuela necesita su confirmación de si su hijo (a) tomará o no los exámenes AP. Una carta fue enviada a casa el lunes 23 de enero. Si no recibimos su confirmación para el viernes 24 de febrero, entenderemos que su hijo (a) no tomará el examen AP.

Presentation to Parents: We cordially invite all Discovery School parents to attend a presentation that will be given by the Lic. Manuel Morales on the topic “To be, in order to be able to do and have”. This presentation will take place on Wednesday, February 8, at 8:00 a.m., in the Conference Room. The school will be providing some refreshments. We hope you will be able to attend!
Scholastic News: Scholastic Book Club leaflets were given out last week. This is an optional activity offered by the school, because we know you want to motivate your child to read at home. With your purchase, our library will accumulate points to redeem more books for the benefit of your children in our school. The due date to purchase the books online is January 31. The books will arrive to the school in one single delivery, and we will distribute them to the students according to their orders, approximately three weeks after the purchase due date.

Presentación a los Padres de Familia: Invitamos cordialmente a todos los padres de la Escuela Discovery para asistir a una presentación que será realizada por el Lic. Manuel Morales sobre el tema "Ser, para poder hacer y tener". Esta presentación se llevará a cabo el miércoles 8 de febrero, a las 8:00 am, en la Salón de Reuniones. Noticias de Scholastic: Los Folletos del Club de Libros de Scholastic se entregaron la semana pasada. Esta es una actividad opcional ofrecida por la escuela, ya que buscamos motivar a los niños (as) la lectura en casa. Con su compra, nuestra biblioteca acumulará puntos para canjear más libros que beneficiaran a sus hijos (as) en la escuela. La fecha límite para la compra de los libros en línea es el 31 de enero. Los libros llegarán a la escuela en un solo paquete y los distribuiremos a los estudiantes según el pedido, aproximadamente tres semanas después de la fecha límite de compra.

AASCA MATH COUNTS –
16 middle school students will be representing the school in a competition taking place in El Salvador from February 2 - 5. There will be 24 schools from Central America participating in this event. Ms. Regina Ochoa has been training with them for the past months. We wish them good luck!
AASCA MUSIC FESTIVAL –
Our School Choir and Jazz Band will be traveling to Costa Rica to represent the school on February 7 – 12. We also wish them the best!

COMPETENCIA DE MATEMÁTICAS AASCA -
16 estudiantes de secundaria estarán representando a la escuela en una competencia que tendrá lugar en El Salvador del 2 al 5 de febrero. Habrá 24 escuelas de Centroamérica participando en este evento. Ms. Regina Ochoa ha estado entrenando con ellos durante los últimos meses. ¡Les deseamos buena suerte!

VALENTINE’S DAY BALL - The Senior class will be hosting the Valentine’s Day Ball on Friday, February 17 from 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. The entrance fee is Lps. 100. Drinks and food will be available for sale. Grades 5 and up are invited.
WINE AND CHEESE PARENT GET TOGETHER - activity is for adults only! As you drop your child off at the Valentine’s Day Ball on February 17, come next door for a parents’ get-together. All parents are invited, with our their little ones!

BAILE DEL DÍA DE SAN VALENTÍN – Los estudiantes de Duodécimo Grado (Seniors) serán los anfitriones del Baile del día de San Valentín el viernes 17 de febrero de 6:00 p.m. a 10:00 p.m. La entrada es de Lps. 100. Refrescos y comida estarán disponibles a la venta. Los grados de 5 en adelante están invitados.
REUNION DE PADRES -VINO Y QUESO - Esta actividad es sólo para adultos! Al dejar a su hijo (a) en el Baile del Día de San Valentín el 17 de febrero, en el área social de Villas el Molino (a la par del campus de la escuela).
