MIDTERM PROGRESS REPORTS - Parents will be getting the fourth quarter Midterm Progress Reports today. Please go over them with your child and encourage your child to stay focused in this last part of the school year. If a conference was not requested by a teacher and you would like one, please contact the school (Tel. 2221-7790 or Cel. 9950-6924) to set it up at your convenience.

This Tuesday, May 7, our school will be visited by Ms. Sandra Sandoval from the United States Embassy to talk to our students, parents and staff about internet safety.

SPRING GENERAL ASSEMBLY - The summons for the Spring General Assembly will take place at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 11. A quorum for this assembly is needed for the approval of the 2019-2020 School Budget. Please mark your calendar and support the Board of Directors and the school by attending this assembly and voting for the important matters that will be presented then.

ASAMBLEA GENERAL DE PRIMAVERA: La convocatoria para la Asamblea General de Primavera se llevará a cabo a las 9:00 a.m. del sábado 11 de mayo. Para esta asamblea se necesita quórum para la aprobación del Presupuesto Escolar 2019-2020. Favor de agendar en su calendario y apoyar a la Junta Directiva y a la escuela asistiendo a esta asamblea y votando por los asuntos importantes que se presentarán en ese momento.

TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK - The DPTO has a series of special treats for our very dedicated teachers as Teacher Appreciation Week is celebrated this week. The culminating activity is a Teacher Luncheon on Friday, May 10 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

STUDENT APPRECIATION BREAKFAST - In recognition for all the effort and hard work our students have put into representing our school in various academic and sport events locally and internationally, the DPTO is inviting the students who represented Discovery School to a breakfast at 7:15 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22.

DESAYUNO DE APRECIACIÓN PARA LOS ESTUDIANTES: En reconocimiento a todos los esfuerzos y el arduo trabajo que nuestros estudiantes han representado para representar a nuestra escuela en diversos eventos académicos y deportivos a nivel local e internacional, el DPTO invita a los estudiantes que representaron a Discovery School a un desayuno a las 7:15 a.m. miércoles 22 de mayo.

Parents please mark your calendars for 10:15 a.m. on Friday, May 24. Because of the great success last year, we are once again turning our Discovery Idol into a SPRING CONCERT where our students will showcase their advances in Music Class. We hope to see you all there!

As a closure for the Economics Unit, the third graders will be conducting a Bake Sale next Wednesday, May 8th. The children will be selling brownies, pizza, cake pops, pizza, donuts, and more during snack and lunch recess. All the profits of this activity will be donated to the Environmental Committee. Please help us by supporting this activity.

Como cierre de la Unidad de Economía, los estudiantes de tercer grado realizarán una venta de repostería el próximo miércoles, 8 de mayo. Los niños venderán brownies, pizza, pasteles, pizza, donas y más durante el recreo de la merienda y el almuerzo. Todos los beneficios de esta actividad serán donados al Comité Ambiental. Por favor ayúdenos apoyando esta actividad.

ENVIRONMENTAL STUDENT COUNCIL FUNDRAISING - Over the next three weeks, the fourth grade students will be raising money for the Environmental Student Council's recycling fundraising drive on Tuesday and Thursday mornings . Also, next Wednesday May 8th the third graders will have a bake sale and will be donating their profits to the fundraising.
To this date, the second and fifth graders have raised nearly L. 20,000 towards the recycling centers containers through a movie event and karate pop sales. We have purchased the first new container which you can see next to the gym. It is our hope that with our community's support we will reach our goal and raise L. 60,000. Thank you parents , teachers and students, for your support so far! Together we can reach our goal of being a "green" school!

RECAUDACIÓN DE FONDOS DEL CONSEJO AMBIENTAL ESTUDIANTIL - Durante las próximas tres semanas, los estudiantes de cuarto grado presentarán la campaña de recaudación de fondos para el reciclaje colaborando con el Consejo Ambiental Estudiantil los martes y jueves por la mañana. Además, el próximo miércoles 8 de mayo, los estudiantes de tercer grado tendrán un bake sale y donarán sus ganancias a la campaña de recaudación de fondos.
Hasta la fecha, los alumnos de segundo y quinto grado han recaudado casi L. 20,000 para los contenedores de los centros de reciclaje a través de un evento de películas y ventas de karate pops. Hemos comprado el primer contenedor nuevo que puede ver al lado del gimnasio. Esperamos que con el apoyo de nuestra comunidad alcancemos nuestra meta y aumentemos L. 60,000. ¡Gracias padres de familia, maestros y estudiantes, por su apoyo hasta la fecha! ¡Juntos podemos alcanzar nuestra meta de ser una escuela "verde"!

HONORS BREAKFAST FOR STUDENTS IN THE HONOR ROLL- The school administration will recognize students who have worked hard in their academics and have earned a place in the Honor Roll during the course of the school year. We will have a special breakfast for those honor roll students and their parents on Friday, May 10 @ 7:15 a.m in the school’s gymnasium. Invitations will be sent home next week.

DESAYUNO DE HONORES PARA ESTUDIANTES EN EL CUADRO DE HONOR: La administración de la escuela reconocerá a los estudiantes que han trabajado duro en sus estudios académicos y se han ganado un lugar en el Cuadro de Honor durante el transcurso del año escolar. Tendremos un desayuno especial para los estudiantes del cuadro de honor y sus padres/madres el viernes 10 de mayo a las 7:15 a.m. en el gimnasio de la escuela. Las invitaciones serán enviadas a casa la próxima semana.
