IMPORTANT REMINDER
OUR SPRING GENERAL ASSEMBLY IS TOMORROW!
The Spring General Assembly will take place at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow, Saturday, May 11.
A quorum for this assembly is needed for the approval of the 2019-2020 School Budget.
Please come and support the Board of Directors and the school by attending this assembly and voting for the important matters that will be presented then.

A HUGE THANKS TO THE DPTO - The DPTO Officers put a lot of effort and dedication this past week to make our teachers feel extra special, as TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK is celebrated around the world in international schools. The every day morning treats were topped with a delicious luncheon served today! Thanks for making us feel so appreciated!

MUCHAS GRACIAS AL DPTO: Los representantes de la organización de padres (DPTO) hicieron un gran esfuerzo y dedicación la semana pasada para que nuestros maestros se sintieran muy especiales, ya que la SEMANA DE APRECIACIÓN DE MAESTROS se celebra en escuelas internacionales en todo el mundo. Todos los días de la mañana los maestros recibieron un detalle especial y se culminó con un delicioso almuerzo servido hoy! ¡Gracias por hacernos sentir tan apreciados!

AWARDS ASSEMBLY - The school will be having a special awards assembly on Friday, May 17 @ 8:00 am. During this assembly we will be recognizing the students that earned the US Presidential Awards for Educational Excellence, Educational Achievement, and Citizenship. We will have a special guest from the US Embassy to hand out the awards.

ASAMBLEA DE PREMIACIÓN: La escuela tendrá una asamblea de premiación especial el viernes 17 de mayo a las 8:00 am. Durante esta asamblea estaremos reconociendo a los estudiantes que obtuvieron los Premios Presidenciales de los Estados Unidos por Excelencia Educativa, Logros Educativos y Ciudadanía. STUDENT APPRECIATION BREAKFAST - In recognition for all the effort and hard work our students have put into representing our school in various academic and sport events locally and internationally, the DPTO is inviting the students who represented Discovery School to a breakfast at 7:15 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22.

Parents please mark your calendars for 10:15 a.m. on Friday, May 24. Because of the great success last year, we are once again turning our Discovery Idol into a SPRING CONCERT where our students will showcase their advances in Music Class. We hope to see you all there!

Amazing news to share: To this date, the elementary students have raised nearly L. 27,000 towards the recycling centers containers. Our latests activities have included a third grade bake sale, and a donation drive run by the fourth graders.
The fourth grade students will continue their donation drive for the next two weeks on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
Thank you parents , teachers and students, for your support so far! Together we can reach our goal of being a "green" school!

Excelentes noticias para compartir: hasta la fecha, los estudiantes de primaria han recaudado casi L. 27,000 hacia los contenedores de los centros de reciclaje. Nuestras actividades más recientes han incluido un "bake sale" de tercer grado y una campaña de donación realizada por los alumnos de cuarto grado.
Los estudiantes de cuarto grado continuarán su campaña de donación durante las próximas dos semanas los martes y jueves por la mañana.

Please contact Mr. Eduardo Valladares, Secretary before the Ministry of Education, should you have any question. The photographs are due on Wednesday, May 15.
