SECONDARY NEWS
BLOGS – we remind all parents and students to check the blogs every Monday (preferably) in order to be informed of the week’s content.
HOMEWORK CALENDAR – is a very useful tool to keep track of homework, quizzes and tests, etc. The homework calendar is located within every blog.
ENGRADEPRO – Engradepro accounts are ready!!! Please contact me via phone or email so I can share your child’s information to access the account. Students will receive the information from their teachers and/or from me.
- After you get your username and password, login to www.engradepro.com
- You may change the password but you may not change the username.
- We strongly recommend you check Engradepro periodically so you can monitor your child’s academic performance.
STUDENT COUNCIL
STUCO representatives will have their first meeting on Tuesday, September 6 @ 11:00 in the Conference Room. They will meet with Dr Ketterer to discuss important issues about their student life.
MEETING WITH 9th & 10th GRADE PARENTS – Ms. Gloria will be meeting with 9th & 10th grade parents in the Conference Room on Wednesday, September 7 @ 8:00.
ABSH ATHLETIC LEADERSHIP RETREAT
Ms Yery will be taking a group of students to a leadership retreat.
The theme of the retreat is
“I am a Leader and I believe in Sportsmanship”.
The event will take place on September 9 – 11.

BLOGS – Se les recuerdas a todos los padres y estudiantes revisar los blogs todos los lunes (preferiblemente) con el fin de ser informado del contenido de la semana.
CALENDARIO DE TAREAS – Es una herramienta muy útil para realizar un seguimiento de las tareas, pruebas y exámenes, etc. El calendario de tareas se encuentra dentro de cada blog.
ENGRADEPRO – Las cuentas de Engradepro están creadas!!! Favor contactar a Ms. Gloria vía teléfono o por correo electrónico, así compartir la información de su hijo para tener acceso a la cuenta. Los estudiantes recibirán la siguiente información de los maestros y/o de mí.
- Después de obtener su nombre de usuario y la contraseña, iniciar sesión en www.engradepro.com
- Puede cambiar la contraseña, pero no podrá cambiar el nombre del usuario.
- Le recomendamos revisar periódicamente el Engradepro para que pueda supervisar el rendimiento académico de su hijo(a).
EL CONSEJO ESTUDIANTIL (STUCO)
Los representantes de STUCO tendrán su primera reunión el martes 6 de septiembre a las 11:00 a.m. en el Salón de Reuniones. Ellos se reunirán con el Dr. John Ketterer para discutir temas importantes acerca de la vida de estudiante.
REUNION CON LOS PADRES DE 9no & 10mo GRADO--- Ms. Gloria se reunirá con los padres de 9no & 10mo grado en el Salón de Reuniones el miércoles 7 de septiembre a las 8:00 a.m.
RETIRO DE LIDERAZGO EN DEPORTES ABSH--- Ms. Yery llevará a un grupo de estudiantes para un retiro de liderazgo. El tema del retiro es “Soy un Líder y Espíritu Deportivo”. El evento se llevará a cabo del 9 al 11 de septiembre.

ECOFRIENDLY LUNCH DAY
The 10th grade Environmental Science students encourage our student body and teachers to produce less waste, through the 4 R’s (recycle, reuse, reduce, and rethink). In an effort to promote waste reduction, Ecofriendly Lunch Day will be held on Tuesday, September 6th. For this day (and the rest of the school year), we encourage our students to pack a “waste free” lunch. The 10th grade AP environmental science students have given chats to each of the classes about waste reduction. They will join the elementary students for lunch and will also host activities (in the area next to the cafeteria) during elementary lunch recess. ALMUERZO ECOLÓGICO
Los alumnos del 10mo grado de la clase de Ciencias Ambiental AP alientan a nuestro grupo estudiantil y a los maestros a producir menos desechos, a través de las 4 R (reciclar, reutilizar, reducir y reflexionar). En un esfuerzo por promover la reducción de desechos, el Almuerzo Ecológico se llevará a cabo el martes 6 de septiembre. Para este día (y para el resto del año escolar), alentamos a nuestros estudiantes a empacar un almuerzo “libre de desechos”. Ellos han dado charlas a cada una de las clases sobre la reducción de desechos. Ellos se unirán a los estudiantes de primaria y también serán anfitriones de actividades (en el área junto a la cafetería) durante el recreo del almuerzo de primaria.

PSAT EXAM: The school will administer the PSAT exam on Wednesday, October 19, 2016. We are reminding students/parents to please make the payment of $25 for this exam in the finance office. The deadline was September 2.
IMPORTANT SENIORS´ NEWS: Just a quick reminder for parents to make an appointment via email with Ms. Marilís, in case you haven’t done so, to discuss your child’s future college plans. Please do so before the September holiday.

Examen del PSAT: La escuela aplicara el examen del PSAT el miércoles, 19 de octubre, 2016. Le recordamos al estudiante/padres favor hacer el pago de $25 para el examen. Este pago se realiza en la Oficina de Finanzas, la fecha límite fue el 2 de septiembre.
¡Importante! para los Seniors: Un pequeño recordatorio a los padres de los Seniors hacer una cita vía correo electrónico con Ms. Marilís, en caso de que no lo ha hecho, el motivo de la reunión es para discutir los planes futuros de su hijo (a) de la elección de la universidad. Favor hacerlo antes del feriado de septiembre.
