IMPORTANT
REMINDER TO PARENTS—The Fall General Assembly will be held on September 27 at
9:00 a.m. in the Cafeteria of the School.
The official convocation will follow.
Your attendance is respectfully requested in order to inform you of
important school developments.
MIDTERM PROGRESS
REPORTS
– Reports will be sent home this Friday, September 12. If you would like a
conference, and one was not requested by the teacher, please call the school to
set up an appointment.
DESAYUNO
CATRACHO
– To Celebrate the Honduran Independence, there will be a Pot Luck Style
“Desayuno Catracho” in each classroom on Friday, September 12, from 8:00 to
8:50 a.m. We ask our parents to help us organize this, and contribute with
goodies. Honduran cultural and fun activities will follow the breakfast. We
encourage our students to come dressed in a Honduran outfit that day. We also want
to remind parents that this is an early dismissal day (11:45 a.m.) and that the
following Monday, September 15 and Tuesday, September 16 are holidays!
DISMISSAL
ON FRIDAY – We want to remind our students and
parents that there is an early dismissal on Friday, September 12. Students will
be dismissed at 11:45, right after our Independence Day Celebration
MAP
TESTING SESSION FOR THE FALL – Our first MAP
testing session will begin after the Independence Holiday.
STUDENT ID CARDS: ID
cards will be available for all students who are interested at a Lps. 30.00
cost. Students need to pay in the Finance Office and then with the receipt go
to Mr. Cesar Morga’s office to have their pictures taken.
Replacement of a lost ID card will have a cost of
Lps. 50.
Mr. Morga will begin with interested students from
grades 9 – 12 and then continue with the rest of the student body.
MATH OLYMPICS:
Students from grades 7-12 are invited to take part in the Math Olympics clubs.
The ABSH Math Olympics will take place in La Ceiba during the month of April.
Clubs meeting will begin after our September holiday break.
ELEMENTARY
INTRAMURALS – The elementary students in grades 3-5
will be working this month in track and field trainings. The culmination of
this unit will bring two events:
- Track and field activity: Lower field - Friday September 26; The students will be divided into two teams and students will participate individually in each category to score points for their teams.

- Fieldtrip to El Palacio de Los Deportes (UNAH) - Tuesday
September 30: The students are going to
participate in competition call “Kids
Athletics” that will be organized for our school by the students of Atletismo (track and field) from
the UNAH.
FROM THE
COUNSELOR’S OFFICE - Scholastic Book Club leaflets are out.
This is an optional activity offered by the school, because we know you want to
motivate your child to read at home.
With your purchase, our library will accumulate points to redeem more
books for the benefit of your children in our school. The due date to purchase the books online is
Sep.12. The books will arrive to the school in one single delivery, and we will
distribute them to the students according to their orders, approximately three weeks
after the purchase due date.

RECORDATORIO IMPORTANTE PARA LOS PADRES—La Asamblea General de otoño se
llevará a cabo el día 27 de septiembre a las 9:00 a.m. en la cafetería de la
escuela. La convocatoria oficial será enviada próximamente. Muy respetuosamente
se solicita su asistencia para que podamos informarles del desarrollo de la
escuela.
REPORTES DE PROGRESO DE MEDIO PERIODO – Los reportes
serán enviados a casa este viernes 12 de septiembre. Si desea tener una
conferencia, y el maestro no se la solicitó, favor llame a la escuela para
concertar una cita.
DESAYUNO CATRACHO - Para celebrar la Independencia de Honduras,
tendremos un “Desayuno Catracho” al estilo bufet, en cada aula el día viernes
12 de septiembre, desde las 8:00 a 8:50 a.m. Les pedimos a los padres nos
ayuden a organizarlo, y contribuir con comidas típicas saludables.
Actividades culturales y festividades de Honduras, se realizarán después del
desayuno. Animamos a los alumnos a que vengan vestidos con trajes típicos ese
día. También queremos recordarles a los padres que ese día los alumnos saldrán
temprano (11:45 a.m.) y que el lunes y martes siguientes son días feriados!
SALIDA TEMPRANA EL VIERNES – Queremos recordar a
nuestros padres y alumnos que el día viernes 12 de septiembre los niños saldrán
temprano. La hora de salida será a las 11:45 a.m., justo después de la Celebración
del Día de la Independencia.
SESION DE EXAMENES MAP DE OTOÑO – Nuestra primera sesión
de exámenes MAP comenzará después del Feriado de Independencia.
CARNETS DE ALUMNOS: Tendremos disponible carnets
para los alumnos que estén interesados a un valor de L.30.00. Los alumnos
tienen que pagarlo en la Oficina de Finanzas y con el recibo pasar a la oficina
de Mr. Cesar Morga para que les tome la foto.
El reemplazo de un carnet extraviado tendrá un valor de
L.50.00
Mr. Morga comenzará con los alumnos interesados de los
grados de 9-12 y luego continuará con el resto del alumnado.
OLIMPIADA DE MATEMATICAS: Los alumnos de 7 –
12 grados están invitados a tomar parte de los clubes de Olimpiada de Matemáticas.
Las Olimpiadas de Matemáticas de ABSH se realizarán en La Ceiba durante el mes
de abril. Los clubes se reunirán después del feriado de septiembre.
DEPORTES INTRAMURALES DE PRIMARIA – Los alumnos de
primaria de 3-5 grado estarán trabajando durante este mes en entrenamiento de
atletismo. La culminación de esta unidad trae consigo dos eventos:

Actividad de atletismo: Campo de abajo – viernes 26 de septiembre; los alumnos serán divididos en dos equipos y los alumnos participarán
individualmente en cada categoría para ganar puntos para su equipo.

Paseo al Palacio de los Deportes (UNAH) – Martes 30 de septiembre: los alumnos estarán participando en una competencia llamada “Atletismo para niños” que será
organizada para nuestra escuela por los alumnos de Atletismo de la UNAH.
DESDE LA OFICINA DE CONSEJERIA – Los panfletos del
Club de Libros de Scholastic ya se entregaron. Esta es una actividad opcional
ofrecida por la escuela, ya que sabemos que desea motivar a su hijo a leer en
casa. Con su compra, nuestra biblioteca acumulará puntos para redimir más
libros, para el beneficio de sus hijos en la escuela. La fecha límite para la
compra de libros en línea es el 12 de septiembre. Los libros llegarán a la
escuela en un solo envío, y nosotros los distribuiremos a los alumnos según sus
ordenes, aproximadamente tres semanas después de la fecha límite.
