CONGRATULATIONS
on a successful ending to the school year last
Friday. Our students were engaged in learning until the very last day of school.
We thank our parents for entrusting their children to us. To all the families
who are leaving Discovery School we wish the best of luck in your new
endeavors. To those who will be returning next year, we will see you all on
August 12.
SCHOOL
CALENDAR 2015 – 2016 – In this link you will find
the School Calendar for next year. Please plan according to the dates reflected
on it. As the General Assembly requested last May 16, the Professional Development
Wednesdays have been moved to Fridays. Calendar - Click here
YEARBOOKS AND MERLIN PICTURES – The
school pictures that were ordered by our families that have not yet been
retrieved will be available for pick up with Ms. Carolina. The fabulous school
yearbooks, which are now on sale, can be purchased in the Finance Office for
only L600.
END OF THE YEAR RECUP EXAMS FOR MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL
- Please take note of the following information:
·
There will be
one (1) “recuperation week” at the end of the school year (June 15 – 19).
·
Passing grade
is 70%.
·
“Retrasada”
class – only 1 subject is allowed to be taken the following school year.
·
If the student
fails 2 or more subjects at the end of his/her “recuperation” week, he/she will
need to repeat the school year.
BOARD
NOTES – The Discovery School Board reminds current parents who intend to
register an additional child for the upcoming school year (2015-2016) that they
have until July 15, 2015 to register their (additional) children paying the
capital fee for 2014-2015. After that
day, all registrations will be subject to the new capital fee.
RESERVATION
OF SPACES AND FEE FOR NEXT SCHOOL YEAR – we remind
our returning families to save the space for their children for next school
year. There is a $500 reservation fee that is applicable to next year’s
tuition. It is important for the school to know how many students will be
returning next year so we can plan accordingly.
SUMMER
ACTIVITIES IN SCHOOL – There are still spaces
available for the Reinforcement Summer School (for grade 1) and for the
Discovery Zone 6 Summer Camp. Registration (and transportation) should be
arranged in the finance office.
FRIDAY, JUNE 5 –Our High
School graduation will take place at 10:00 a.m. Friday is also the last day for
teachers.
REPORT CARDS – Report
Cards and final documentation will be available for our parents to pick up on
Friday, June 12. If you have any special needs regarding this, please contact
the school immediately.

college admission in New Mexico Military
Institute. We are so proud of you, Antonio!
For the 9th graders:
·
The school will soon be ordering the
PSAT exams. The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test
(PSAT/NMSQT) is a program cosponsored by the College Board and National
Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). It's a
standardized test that provides
firsthand practice for the SAT®. It also gives you a chance to
enter NMSC scholarship programs and gain access to college and career planning
tools.

The school will administer the PSAT exam
on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 @ 8:00
a.m.The cost of the exam is $ 25.
·
The
PSAT exam is mandatory for all upcoming 10th graders. Additional
information about this exam and its payment was sent home last week in a
letter.
FELICITACIONES por un exitoso cierre al año escolar este viernes
pasado. Nuestros alumnos estuvieron comprometidos con su aprendizaje hasta el último
día de clases. Agradecemos a nuestros padres por confiarnos sus hijos. A todas
las familias que se van de la Escuela Discovery les deseamos la mejor de las
suertes en sus actividades futuras. Para aquellos que estarán regresando el
próximo año, los veremos el 12 de agosto.

el. Según se solicitó en la Asamblea General del pasado 16 de mayo, los miércoles

ANUARIOS Y FOTOS DE MERLIN – Las fotos escolares que fueron ordenadas por
nuestras familias que aun no las han retirado estarán disponibles para
recogerlas con Ms. Carolina. Los increíbles anuarios escolares, que están a la
venta en este momento, pueden ser adquiridos en la Oficina de Contabilidad por
solamente L.600.00.
EXAMENES DE RECUPERACION DE FIN DE AÑO PARA SECUNDARIA
– Favor tome nota que la
siguiente información:
·
Tendremos una
(1) “semana de recuperación” al final del año escolar (15 al 19 de junio).
·
La nota para
pasar es 70%.
·
Clase
“retrasada” – solamente es permitida tener 1 clase para el siguiente año escolar.
·
Si el alumnos
falla 2 o más clases al final de su semana de “recuperación”, necesitará
repetir el año escolar.
NOTAS DE LA JUNTA – La Junta Directiva de la
Escuela Discovery le recuerda a los padres que van a matricular a algún otro
hijo(a) a la escuela en el próximo año escolar (2015-2016) que tienen hasta el
15 de julio para matricular a su hijo (de nuevo ingreso) con el valor del fondo
de inversión del 2014-2015. Después de esa fecha, todas las matriculas serán
sujetas al nuevo fondo de inversión.
RESERVACION DE ESPACIOS Y TARIFA
PARA EL PROXIMO AÑO ESCOLAR – les
recordamos a las familias de reingreso que reserven el espacio del próximo año para
sus hijos. Hay una tarifa de reservación de $500 que se aplica a la colegiatura
del próximo año. Es importante para la escuela saber cuántos alumnos regresarán
el próximo año para planificar correctamente.
VIERNES 5 DE JUNIO – La graduación de Secundaria se realizará a las
10:00 a.m. El viernes es también el último día de los maestros.
CALIFICACIONES – Las calificaciones y documentos finales estarán
disponibles para que los padres los recojan desde el viernes 12 de junio. Si
tiene alguna necesidad especial con referencia a esto, favor comuníquese con la
escuela inmediatamente.

Para los alumnos de 9no grado:

Muy pronto la
escuela estará ordenando los exámenes PSAT. El

Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). Es un examen estándar que proporciona
a primera mano al los exámenes SAT®. También le da la

La escuela

14 de octubre, 2015 a las 8:00 a.m. El costo del examen es de $25.00.
