SONG FEST – please do not
forget that this Friday, December 11 we will hold our Songfest. This year, the
theme is the “AWESOME 80’s”, and our students have been working very hard in
preparing their presentations for our school community. The show will begin
promptly at 6:30 p.m. Since traffic tends to be very hectic at this time of the
year, and especially on Fridays, we recommend you try to be here at early. We
invite you to come at 5:00 p.m. and enjoy the delicious food that will be sold
by the DPTO, the drinks sold by the Seniors, and the tasty pastry sold by the
Community Service.
LICE SITUATION
- It has come to our attention that we are having an unusual number of cases of
head lice, spread throughout different grades in our school. Head lice are not
an unusual situation in schools and it is nothing any parent or student should
be ashamed of. Because head lice spread so quickly, we have asked our parents
for their cooperation in the following:
1.
Check your child’s
head thoroughly for lice and/or nits.
2.
If a child has
lice/nits, they should use the shampoo treatment found at any drug store.
3.
Keep your
child at home until he/she is lice free.
CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION IN YOUR CLASSROOMS - If you will have a Christmas celebration, please consider the menu
that is being offered by our school cafeteria. Your support will be greatly
appreciated.

HOMEWORK CLUB
FOR SECONDARY – Secondary students will have the

FOLLOW-UP
TO TEST-TAKING SKILLS WORKSHOPS: We are providing

for students to keep on practicing the skills they learned on our last two
workshops. Keep up the good work, 6th graders!
BOOT
CAMP FOR 9-12 GRADES: We are interested in
organizing a one-day boot camp for your child. This activity promotes teamwork
and leadership skills. It will take place in the month of January. Please click
on the following link which will take you to a survey that will help us
organize the activity.
NPH GIVING TREE- Nuestro
Pequeños Hermanos (NPH) is an international organization that takes in
abandoned and orphaned children, providing a home and education. Here in Honduras, the NPH organization
provides for over 500 children in at large ranch near La Venta and home in
Tegucigalpa for severely handicapped children.
While many children at the ranch have aunts, uncles, or grandparents
that come to visit them and can provide some Christmas gifts, some children at
a ranch have no family to visit. It is
these children, whom we would like to provide for this Christmas. On the second floor of the secondary
building, a NPH Giving Tree will be set up.
If you wish to participate, choose a paper tree that has a child’s
information about his/her size for shoes or socks. Purchase the new item and return it to Mrs.
Agurcia’s Room (Rm. 7) by Tuesday, December 8th, with the tree tag taped to
it. Thank you for giving this Christmas!

ELECTRONIC DEVICES
(cell phones, tablets, laptops, etc) – students may bring their electronic
devices to school with the understanding the school will not be responsible for
any loss or damage. We advise all students to care good care of their
electronic devices and to avoid leaving them on the floor or outside of rooms.
LOCKERS
– The school has provided a locker to all secondary students for the purpose of
protecting the student’s property, and preventing loss or theft. The lockers
need to be secured with a combination padlock at all times. The students are
responsible for the padlock and for seeing that their books and belongings are
locked in the locker when not in use.

SONGFEST – favor no olviden que este viernes 11 de diciembre estaremos realizando
nuestro Songfest. Este año, el tema es “Los FABULOSOS 80s”, y nuestros alumnos
han estado trabajando arduamente preparando las presentaciones para la
comunidad escolar. El programa empezará a las 6:30 p.m. en punto. El tráfico
tiende a ponerse pesado durante esta época del año, especialmente los viernes,
les recomendamos que intente estar en la escuela temprano. Les invitamos a
que vengan a las 5:00 p.m. y disfruten de la deliciosa comida que venderá el
DPTO, los refrescos que venderán los Seniors, y la deliciosa repostería que
venderán el Club de Servicio Comunitario.
SITUACION
CON LOS PIOJOS - Estamos teniendo un número inusual de casos de piojos, que se han dado en
diferentes grados de nuestra escuela. Los piojos no son una situación inusual
en las escuelas y no es algo que deba dar vergüenza a los padres o alumnos.
Debido a que los piojos
se propagan tan rápidamente, les pedimos a los padres su colaboración en lo
siguiente:
1. Revise la cabeza de su(s) hijo(s) detenidamente en
caso de piojos o liendres.
2. Si su hijo(a) tiene piojos o liendres, compre un
shampoo para el tratamiento en cualquier farmacia.
3. Mantenga a su(s) hijo(s) en casa hasta que ya no
tenga piojos.
CELEBRACION DE NAVIDAD EN EL AULA DE CLASES – Si están realizando una celebración de Navidad en
el aula, favor considere el menú que esta la cafeteria de la escuela esta
vendiendo. Agradecemos en gran manera su apoyo.

entrenamiento de un día para su hijo/a. En esta actividad se promoverá el
trabajo en equipo y liderazgo. Esta actividad se llevará a cabo en el mes de

ARBOL DE
NAVIDAD DE DONATIVOS PARA NPH: Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH) es
una organización internacional que acoge niños abandonados y huérfanos, para
proveerles casa y educación. Aquí en Honduras, la organización NPH cuida a más
de 500 niños en una finca grande cerca de La Venta y en casa en Tegucigalpa
para niños con discapacidades severas. Mientras que algunos niños de la finca
tienen las visitas de sus tías, tíos, o abuelos que les pueden llevar regalos
de navidad, algunos de los niños en la misma finca no tienen familia que los
visite. Es a estos niños a los cuales deseamos ofrecerles algo en esta navidad.
En el segundo piso del edificio de secundaria, se pondrá un árbol de donativos
para NPH. Si desea participar, escoja un arbolito de papel que tenga la
información del niño(a) con su talla de zapato o calcetines. Compre el artículo
nuevo y tráigalo al aula de Ms. Christina Agurcia (aula 7) antes del martes 8
de diciembre, con el arbolito de papel pegado.

APARATOS ELECTRONICOS (celulares, tabletas, computadoras portátiles,
etc.) – Los alumnos pueden traer sus aparatos electrónicos a la escuela con el
entendimiento que la escuela no es responsable por ninguna pérdida o daño. Les
aconsejamos a los alumnos a cuidar de sus aparatos electrónicos y evitar
dejarlos en el piso o afuera de las aulas.
CASILLEROS – La escuela ha proporcionado un casillero para cada alumno de secundaria con
el propósito de proteger la propiedad de cada alumno, y prevenir las perdidas o
robos. Los casilleros deben estar asegurados con un candado de combinación todo
el tiempo. Los alumnos son responsables por el candado y por estar pendientes
que sus libros y pertenencias estén aseguradas en el casillero cuando no los
estén utilizando.
