ABSH SCIENCE FAIR – Last Friday and Saturday we had a group of fourth, fifth and sixth graders participate in the ABSH Science Fair that took place in Del Campo International School. We are very proud of our young scientists, and thank them and their parents for their hard work!

FERIA DE CIENCIAS ABSH - El viernes y el sábado pasado tuvimos un grupo de estudiantes de cuarto, quinto y sexto grado que participaron en la Feria de Ciencia ABSH que tuvo lugar en la Escuela Internacional Del Campo. ¡Estamos muy orgullosos de nuestros jóvenes científicos, y gracias a ellos y a sus padres por su arduo trabajo!

KIDS ATHLETICS – We will be hosting our second Kids Athletics interschool meet this Friday, March 3 at the UNAH Polideportivo. Our fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth graders will be participating with students from Sunshine School, Honors Academy and Allison Bixby Stone School in a fun morning of games and activities. An explanatory note along with a permission slip was sent home today. This needs to be sent back to school (along with the fee) no later than Wednesday, March 1. INFANTIL ATLETISMO - Estaremos organizando nuestro segundo Interclubes Infantil de Atletismo este viernes 3 de marzo en el polideportivo de la UNAH. Nuestros alumnos de cuarto, quinto, sexto, séptimo y octavo grado estarán participando con estudiantes de Sunshine School, Honors Academy y Allison Bixby Stone School en una divertida mañana de juegos y actividades. Una nota Informativa de la actividad junto con una hoja de permiso fue enviada a casa hoy. Esto debe ser enviado a la escuela (junto con el pago) a más tardar el miércoles 1 de marzo. READ – A- THON – Grades K – 5 will begin their annual read-a-thon this Monday, February 27. Students were giving a Reading Log (sheet) and a book mark to use during this month. If a student fills up a sheet, he/she may turn it in to his/her teacher and get another one. The student who has read the most pages in his/her class by March will win a lunch off campus sponsored by our DPTO. We ask parents for their support encouraging their child(re) to read, read, read, and record their reading in their logs.

MARATON DE LECTURA-Los grados de K al 5 comenzarán su lectura anual este lunes 27 de febrero. Los estudiantes estaban dando un registro de lectura (hoja) y una marca de libro para usar durante este mes. Si un estudiante llena una hoja, él / ella puede entregarla a su maestro y obtener otra. El estudiante que haya leído la mayoría de las páginas de su clase en marzo ganará un almuerzo fuera del campus patrocinado por nuestra DPTO. Les pedimos a los padres que apoyen al/los niño (s) a leer, leer, leer y grabar su lectura en sus registros.

Boot Camp for 9-12 grades - We have planned a one (1) day BOOTCAMP in Zambrano, on Friday, March 10, 2017. During the BOOTCAMP, we will be focusing on team building skills, respect, honesty, responsibility, commitment, humility, integrity, and confidence among others. All these traits will help our students become successful human beings.
A permission slip has been sent home with all the details of this camp. This note needs to come back signed and the corresponding payment needs to be made the latest by February 28 (we extended the deadline). If your child is not attending the boot camp, he/she is still expected to come to school. Teachers will have work assigned for them to do. Not attending school this day will count as an unexcused absence. If we don’t reach a minimum of 30 students attending the camp, we will be forced to cancel this activity.
Seniors News - We wish to congratulate Maria Fernanda Bran for her admission to University of New Brunswick in Canada, Megan Castro for her admission to University of Tampa, and Anna Cueva for her admission to Rollins University. Anna was also awarded the Achievement Scholarship in recognition of her academic achievements during her high school years. We are all very proud of these three outstanding girls.

CAMPAMENTO DE ENTRENAMIENTO
para los grados 9-12:
Hemos planeado un BOOTCAMP de un (1) día en Zambrano, el viernes 10 de marzo de 2017. Durante el BOOTCAMP, nos enfocaremos en fomentar el espíritu de grupo, respeto, honestidad, responsabilidad, compromiso, humildad, integridad y confianza entre otros. Todas estas cualidades ayudarán a nuestros estudiantes a convertirse en seres humanos exitosos.
Una hoja de permiso ha sido enviada a casa con todos los detalles de este campamento. Esta nota necesita ser enviada con su firma y el pago correspondiente debe hacerse antes del 28 de febrero (Hemos extendido la fecha límite). Si su hijo (a) no asistirá al campamento de entrenamiento, se espera que asista a la escuela a clases. Los maestros (as) tendrán trabajo asignado para ellos. No asistir a la escuela este día contará como una ausencia injustificada. Si no llegamos a un mínimo de 30 estudiantes que asistan al campamento, nos veremos obligados a cancelar esta actividad.
NOTICIAS DE LOS SENIORS - Queremos felicitar a María Fernanda Bran por su admisión a la Universidad de New Brunswick en Canadá, Megan Castro por su admisión en la Universidad de Tampa, y Anna Cueva por su admisión en la Universidad Rollins. Anna también fue galardonada con la “Beca de Logros” en reconocimiento de sus logros académicos durante sus años de escuela secundaria. Todos estamos muy orgullosos de estas tres chicas sobresalientes.
