The hard work, dedication and excellence that always categorizes Discovery School has once again been showcased by the superb presentations that took place in last Thursday’s Song Fest. The talent pool of our students is simply amazing! Our appreciation goes out to Ms. Pamela, Ms. Norma. and Mr. Cesar for their musical guidance, to Ms. Soraya and her students for their beautiful stage backdrop, to our teachers who pitched in to help prepare the presentations, to our DPTO, Community Service group and Seniors 2018 for your work in organizing the food sale, and to Ms. Nina Glynn for helping organize the Mini Bazaar. Coming together like this to make our students and school shine truly makes our school unique!

El trabajo arduo, la dedicación y la excelencia que siempre caracteriza a Discovery School, una vez más se han realizado magníficas presentaciones que tuvieron lugar en el Song Fest del pasado jueves. El grupo de nuestros talentosos estudiantes fueron simplemente increíbles! Nuestro agradecimiento se dirige a Ms. Pamela Cruz, Ms. Norma López y a Mr. Cesar Morga por su orientación musical, a Ms. Soraya y a sus estudiantes por su hermoso fondo en el escenario, a nuestros maestros que colaboraron para ayudar a preparar las presentaciones, a nuestro DPTO, a nuestro grupo de Servicio Comunitario y a los Seniors 2018 por su trabajo en la organización de la venta de comida, y a la Sra. Nina Glynn por ayudar a organizar el Mini Bazar. ¡Trabajar de esta manera para que nuestros estudiantes y la escuela brillen realmente, hacen que nuestra escuela sea única!

As we are getting ready to enjoy the upcoming Holiday Season, we hope you will be able to spend time with your loved ones, get some well deserved rest, and be able to begin 2019 with a bright and positive perspective. Our teachers will be back in school on Friday, January 4 to have everything ready to begin our second semester, and receive our students on Monday, January 7.

Mientras nos estamos preparando para disfrutar la próxima temporada de feriado, esperamos que puedan pasar tiempo con sus seres queridos, descansar bien y comenzar el 2019 con una perspectiva brillante y positiva. Nuestros maestros regresarán a la escuela el viernes, 4 de enero para tener todo listo para comenzar nuestro segundo semestre y recibir a nuestros estudiantes el lunes 7 de enero.

OPERATION SMILE COMMUNITY GROUP
|
|
|
All student-athletes will have fun participating in an intramural basketball tournament, where every single one of them can demonstrate sportsmanship and fair game. Each Team will be composed with participants from grade one, elementary, middle and high school student-athletes.
Activities:
1. Matches will for begin Monday, December 3, and will end Friday, December 14.
2. Matches for first grade will take place from Monday, December 10 to Friday, December 14.
**Teams have been organized during PE class!

Todos los estudiantes-atletas pueden divertirse participando en un torneo de baloncesto interno, donde cada uno de ellos puede demostrar su espirtu deportivo y juego limpio. Cada liga estará conformado con participantes desde alumnos del primer grado, primaria y secundaria.
Actividades:
1. Los partidos comenzarán el lunes, 3 de diciembre y finalizarán el viernes, 14 de diciembre.
2. Los partidos de primer grado se llevarán a cabo desde el lunes, 10 de diciembre hasta el viernes, 14 de diciembre.
** ¡Se han organizado equipos durante la clase de Educación Física!

- ELECTRONIC DEVICES - as part of their school supplies, students are required to bring a laptop or a tablet with a keyboard in order to work in class. The use of cell phones as a working device will no longer be allowed as it not appropriate for typing and it also creates distraction with the use of social media. Laptops and tablets connect through our school’s wifi and allows us to control the child’s content.

- DISPOSITIVOS ELECTRÓNICOS: como parte de los útiles escolares, los estudiantes deben traer una computadora portátil o una tableta con un teclado para poder trabajar en clase. El uso de teléfonos celulares como un dispositivo de trabajo ya no se permitirá, ya que no es apropiado para escribir y también crea distracción con el uso de las redes sociales. Las computadoras portátiles y las tabletas se conectan a través del wifi de nuestra escuela y nos permiten controlar el contenido.

ATTENDANCE - Traffic is difficult for everybody in the city. Please make the necessary arrangements so your child arrives to school before 7:55 am.

we remind all parents and students to check the blogs every Monday afternoon (preferably) in order to be informed of the week’s content. Click on the tab labeled “Blog Links” in our school’s page http://discoveryschool.edu.hn/secondary
HOMEWORK CALENDAR –
This is a very useful tool to keep track of homework, quizzes and tests, etc. The homework calendar is located within every grade’s blog.

check accounts frequently to monitor progres.
